I just picked one up yesterday and put it together and painted it. The only thing I do not like about it are the "hinges" on the side as they are ill-fitting and very frail.

Yes, I have one broken hinge. It sealed its fate when I over-glued the connecting piece. It was never the same. After varnishing it (after the photos), it broke when I moved it.

It's for use in Planetstrike games at the store, along with the bastion and Aegis defense line (being painted right now).

I hate that model, but you make it look much less crappy.

and I know that doesn't sound like much of a compliment, but really, I hate that model. You did a good job.

What's wrong with the model? It's interesting, dynamic, and if it wasn't for the hinges it would be rather ingenious on what they accomplished with 8 different pieces. I just worry about the hinges and wish I had an extra piece.

It's got my imagination fired up on what could be done with it in Planetstrike.

The thing I like about it is it is large enough to fit a fw thunderhawk and strong enough to hold it.

Sadly we don't have one for my store, but we do have 2 crashed Aquilas out of the Macragge sets, 3 Bastions, and a whole bunch Aegis defense lines =] going to look so good when it's all finished =]

My county only has one FLGS and its pretty weak when it comes to game tables and terrain. Nice guys and a friendly crowd but playing on spray painted green plywood is kind of..lame? I'm from San Diego btw

Fortunately I'm from riverside county and I have 2 within 10 miles of me... But I still don't really know anything about planetstrike, even though it looks great. What exactly is the skyshield platform for? Is this nice painted one going to serve as a landing pad for vendettas or something of the like?

There are special rules for it. From memory, guys can unload from a ship on it and move and fire normally. Additionally it provides an invulnerable save if the shields are up.
