Remember GW's 54mm Crime Boss? Well now we can get him in 28mm!
Always nice to see different body types in play.
This one does nothing for me, the body says modern terrorist but the bomb says looney tunes.
YES PLEASE! No such thing as too many cyborg mutants.
Didja know this weekend is the 40th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing?
This guy looks a lot like their Clay Golem with a mohawk. But I liked their clay golem, so he goes on the buy list.
A fairly unremarkable evil knight but with a cool name: Ymrilix the False
You could make a whole trilogy out of heroes fighting Ymrilix the False.
DON'T LOOK IT WILL TURN YOU TO ST-
Oh, too late...
Reaper needs to do an army of these. Two armies.
Definite buy.
Shadow Legionnaires. Another decent model whose name puts it over the top.
I bet they're the elite assassins of Ymrilix the False.
Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to turn her into a pretty decent Sister of Battle or Sister of Sigmar.
Useful characters for your new Wargames Factory Zulus.
I think my arbites army has a new leader.
Anyway, there's lots more on their site.

I love reaper. They have very nice evil looking models. Without going over the top with spikes and skulls. Not that was directed at any company I know.

Love the Knight and the Shadow Legionnaires. The Cthulu-looking mutants might be something nice to pick up for my Warriors of Chaos cultist-marauders.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Good. Heroic 28mm as far as I see/know. Problem is that (some) minis have built in bases so their stand a few mm higher than you average rank and file schmoe which is a bit irritating.

variable. Some are simply huge, and others are smaller. If you go for non-humans you are generally fine,
Bobby Jackson makes some of the best figures, but unfortunately they are all huge.

Love the Squid-heads. They are just fantastic. As I recall, they actually have a couple of the really old D&D molds that used to be cast by Citadel back in the way back days (I'm remembering some really old Kobold minis for example).

Actually that C:AoR figure is somewhat larger than normal. I would have picked a Griffin or a Lion for a real comparison. They are 30mm though, so they are a touch larger than GW. I wouldn't recommend substituting them for WHFB heroes unless your heroes are part giant.

I bought a reaper today....7 dollars + after tax. Holy Cow! What a price increase from a few years ago. I can't believe how they are gouging the customers. Their products are so overpriced. With a stupid business plan like that, raising prices with this economy, you'll see them go out of business soon.
|
.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase. |

I hope they don't go out of business soon! They make some awesome pulp/sci fi minis. I have a few and I'm planning on buying more. If you aren't down with their online store prices, head on over to
http://usacomicbooks.stores.yahoo.net/index.html
they sell them there at a discount.

I just started a Darkspawn army for Warlord. Waiting for the package to arrive.
I like the new Ymrilix. I know they also redid Varaug, I'm hoping they'll do a new Duke Gerard. The Wolf must be reborn!
I wonder what the new battle nun is for. I don't recall a new Bnun hero, I'll need to go recheck Warlord 2.
I love those Shadow Legionnaries. They and Ymrilix make me wish I had Overlords. Hmmm, maybe that's what I'll spend my demo points on.

Unlike some other gaming companies, Reaper actually lowers their prices when the market allows them to do so. If the price of tin goes down, so do the prices of their models. Check out their website for reports of this activity, they're proud to post it.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Slightly smaller, but their wargamer stuff matches up well.
All thestuff shown here is excellent. And Reaper just dropped the prices on their many of their figures, so there's no excuse not to buy them.

Generally the Dark Haven line (molded bases) are 28mm and aimed at D&D players.
The Warlords line (slot bases) is scaled a bit bigger, 32mm maybe? It's for their own in-house game.

Um you do know GW metals are $12-17 each right?
Besides if a model costs $10, the manufacturer only gets $5, the rest goes to keep the store open. And that $5 has to pay for metal, transport, sculpting, advertising and overhead (rent, utilities etc). Metal is probably only $1 of that, so selling you an empty blister would only cut the price to $9.
And since Reaper mostly makes very specific metal models sales on each model is probably in the 100s or low 1000s.
So no, their prices are about right.
