Awesome job jgemrich kinda funny, I'm painting mine almost exactly the same colors the same way well, darker gray but the red spots on the tail parts, metal spots on the engines.. I also ordered some girlie nose art decals that I plan to stick in exactly the same spot hehe

I like the magnet idea for the flying stand, wish I thought of that before I glued mine on :( I'm carved away a little bit of the + spot to get the clear plastic top to fit in better.

Hoping to have mine done around this weekend.

For what its worth heres mine , the photos are a bit rubbish. They dont show any of the hardlineing or weathering. I should get myself a better set up.



I went for a usnaf look ,based on a tomcat model I once made in my youth ( about 30 years ago ).



I painted up the cockpit , the interior and even have those gunners in there so I can open the door, and they swing into position.



Because I can never make up my mind all the weapons are interchangeable , I used plastic tube and a removable pin to hold the weapons under the wings. And the left lascannon by the cockpit is held on my magnets so it can swap it for lights/sensors. The wing cannons are from the space marine predator tank. I cut them down to make them smaller.





I was pleased with the results . But , as I said, I can never make up my mind and after I'd finished it I wished I'd painted it up dark brown/black like a blackhawk ( for my special forces stormtroopers). And put red LED lights in the cockpit and rear. Oh well maybe next time.

I want one to put some Chosen Iron Warriors in.

Thought I'd share a WIP of mine shading and regular highlights are done, gonna start doing battle damage next. Still a ways to go yet...
