True enough, I have sent him the suggestion. As for making a proper basic system, and then the bridge pieces, I think the bridge will be easier than the "turret"/deployment system that takes the place of the combat system turret of the sabre.

Well, it is just a suggestion, he may decide not to accept making iot, but if not, no worries, I amn already looking at images of the M-60A1-AVLB system, an interesting set up iof pistons and control mechanisms to un-lock the bridge and unfold it to deploy.. I might have to make it unfoldable

It may be tough, but if i work the slide action just right, it will be extendable pistons as the server moves down and helps deploy the bridge section, which i will have removable, and pin-hinged.

It's good to see so many Old Crow tanks being put to good use here...they are pretty good aren't they? (I have a couple of dozen of them myself).

Have you seen the ones from Scotia Grendel? They have quite a selection of weird armoured vehicles and it is worth looking through all of their sections because they range from wheeled to tracked to hover (just like Old Crow).

Here's a link to their site: http://www.scotiagrendel.com/

and here are a few examples:

Well worth a look and most of these cost less than a tenner.

Oh, I know of them, I just thought that they had gone out of business a few years back the Kryomek seemed to have anyway

I have been picking up a load of their APCs for one of my projects and they paint up really nicely (they dry-brush really well because of their texture).

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d161/Inso/Grymn/Grymn%20Tunnel%20Fighters/GTF76.jpg

I changed the original turrets for the 6mm scale ones from Old Crow (cannons or rocket-launchers, depending on role).

The only real issue is that they are pretty small (smaller even than Old Crow) so they may not work well with marines/IG.

Have you seen the Pig Iron tanks?:

They are pretty big and mean looking and you can get the turrets separately as well.

Oh, I know, the most a IG could make of those Kryomek APC's is maybe a 6-man team? I do that with the Half-tracks by OC and the same would be for their really light APC.

Ah, the Pig Iron tanks are very big indeed! I have thought of them, but, well, the OC is pretty close to my needs as are some other things like the scratch-builds and the conversion of WW-2 vehicles. But yeah, some of the Kryomek APCS up-scaled would look awesome.

This has probably been shown a handful of times already - but I'm new to Dakka - so I'll have to ask: Can someone point me towards a guide for 'glue rivets'? They will be for my plasticard Skorcha and BW.

More orks and Dark Angels in the P&M section. Feel free to leave a comment, trash it, cheer me up, lurk or : http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/423220.page#3790852

Thanks Vik. I have grown fond of those rounded rivets.

No problem, first, I took a GW plastic cement bottle that had run out of glue and washed out the last of it, then refilled with PVA glue(white glue, elmer's etc.
[/img]

Then used a canula tip from the Zap-a-gap superglue(any canula that will fit over the tip of the bottle will do. I did have to sand down the bottle tip to fit better into the bottom of the canula
[/img]

The right amount of pressure is needed to help hold the right size blob of glue and then touch it to the surface and practice a bit as even I still get some big rivets when i wanted them smaller, it is like dotting candies with a icing squeezer.
[/img]

So, it is quite that simple, just getting things set up right, and then using the right amount of pressure squeezing your "rivet-gun".

Looks simple enough (that alone is proof that it isnt!)

I will have a go at it later. Thanks
