Can we have searches in Swap Shop in reverse chronological order?

That is, if I search for something in the forum, today's results come before yesterday's, before last week's, before last month's, before last year's???

It is irritating and pointless for the first match to come from 2006 when we only care about current offers and posts.

Agreed, but I'm not touching the search functions for a little while yet as they are due for a big overhaul that will take a fair amount of time to do.

I've noticed this, too (I think it's most of the search functions, not just swapshop?) but often even though the first few results are from 2006, farther down the page it skips up to 2009 (I believe the most current ones).

I'm not sure if this is after I change a setting or before. Sometimes I wonder how many people really do use the search engine, though, since this isn't commented on more often. It's much easier to say "use the search function" than to actually do it... at least if you're looking for the most recent topics

I mentioned this before too, and am perfectly content to wait until site admins have the opportunity to work on it... I'm sure there's something quirky involved and I wouldn't want anything else messed up to fix something that does work, just in an odd way

I almost never use the Dakka search, because the search order is messed up.

For now just press F3 and type in your search term. Do it over a couple of pages if you want to look at things over a week or so old. There isn't all that much activity.

Or you could just boycott the new and "improved" trading page.

Or if you have any issues with the new guidelines, you can voice your opinions and offer suggestions over in this thread.
