Just got back from a garage sale and picked up a pretty nice space marine lot for $25. It was 99% on the sprue. Included was 2 3/4 land raiders, 3 1/2 rhinos, Most of a Leman Russ, Half a dreadnaught, 8 metal scouts, 3 metal biker scouts, a wraithlord, a deamon prince, a couple of space marine captains, a few terminators, a couple of landspeeders (including bits for a typhoon), 10 bikes, about 30 or 40 marines (haven't gone through those sprues yet), some brushes, a can of GW grey primer that's still good, 10 GW paints that are salvageable (there's another 20 that are rock hard dried) and a GW carrying case. So what's your best haul?

A few years back at a GW HQ open day I managed to pick up a lifesize prop Imperial Guard helmet that was used in one of the videos GW produced for Games Day in the early 90's. It set me back £5

I did get lucky one time and find a crap load of Generation 1 Transformers, these are worth their weight in gold on Ebay. I think I payed 5$ for 3 big bags, they ended up being worth about 300$. Was a pretty nice find.

About 12 years ago, I was working at the local Comic Book Store, and a lady came in with a brown paper bag. She came up to the counter and proceeded to pull out about 21 star wars action figures.

These were brand new in the package figures from 1977-78. She was asking me how much they were worth when my manager came up behind me and said for her to call our corporate office and they would buy them from her. I was so ready to buy them all from her and pay whatever she wanted! That was literally about 20K sitting in a paper bag...

Now days most people know what their junk is worth.

A bunch of Eldar off ebay for about half price. Got the case, too. Banshees, two squads of reapers, D-Cannons. Stuff I probably would not have bought otherwise, or would have started new army sooner. Kept my armylists fresh for years.

I think you officially have me beat. I've made a few other good deals over the years, though, so I can't complain too much. What got me into warhammer was when I picked up a huge lot of imp guard for $100. It included 10 ratling snipers, 5 ogryns, 3 squads of Tallarn, 6 tallarn heavy weapon teams, 2 squads of Mordians, 3 Mordian heavy weapon teams, some characters (including yarak) and 6 tanks. I wish that I still had those. I did trade them for about $1000 worth of magic cards so I can't complain too much. Another time I pulled in 10 wraithguard, 4 wraithlords, a war walker, about 20 of each aspect warrior, 30 or so guardians, 3 support teams, a couple of farseers, a squad of warlocks, some harlequins, a viper, a fire prism and a falcon for $100. I was pretty happy with that. I've gotten some other good deals but that list is long...

Once, for $10, 12 Classic Genestealers, 12 Classic Termagants, Ork Wartruk (Classic), Classic Eldar Scorpion, and 1/2 a Dark Eldar Model.

Last Year, for $50, 10 Classic Genestealers, 16 Hormagaunts, 13 Gaunts, 1 Ripper base, 1 Tyranid Warrior, 1 3rd edition Lictor, Old One-Eye, the Red Terror, 1 3rd Edition Hive Tyrant.

Platuan4th still take the prize (What did you do, rob a store?)

I don't remember the details...but I got a few good hauls from the Chicago Battle Bunker.
Picked up a freaking ton of Brettonians on the cheap.
Got a few really good deals on Imperial guard (about 10 Stormies, 10 roughriders, mordian heavy weapons, and some old cadians and a couple tanks).

My wife was on Craig's list on Sunday and found someone looking to get rid of all of his GW stuff. Note, this was the price HE set, not something I offered.

couple years ago, the LGS closed down. I helped them move out of the building and got the following for my troubles.

*25 khorne beserkers
*every LOTR Haradrim thing in the store (multiple mumaks, around 200 infantry/cavalry
*about 1000 points of bretonnians
* the stores bitz box (a tackle box with compartments full of bitz)

Last year I got $800 of Khador for $200 with models all the way up to Superiority. With the small amount of Khador I already had, after that purchase the only units that I needed to have full field allowance of everything was a unit of Kossite Woodsmen, the Field Guns, Uhlans, and 2 extra Rocketeers. Oh and Karchev.

caught a sale once at a store- buy one item, get another item of equal or lesser value free.

I hate you people. The best deal Ive had in this hobby so far.... was a "oh look at that, it was misspriced! Looks like you own me 5 more dollars!"

Think I must have a nose for bargains:

-I got a 1000 point eldar army a friend was getting rid of for £15

-At a car boot sale I found a big box with about 60 metal valhallans, some rough riders, guard characters and old school arbites models. The guy only wanted £4

- A guy at our games club was clearing out his basement and gave me a big box of models for nothing. Turned out, among other things, to have a decent sized chaos dwarf army in it.

Thus far the best purchase I have made had to be an entire Space Marine army for $250.00.
It consisted of.
