And yes, the vehicle accessory sprue is not included but that's besides the point.

The instruction leaflet is of an interesting new format, a bit like Tamiya or Airfix. The front page tells a bit about the Demolisher, plus the tools you'll be needing and then they spend quite a few pages slowly walking you through the assembly, with clear pointers on how to properly build it step by step, even going as far as showing angle shots of the completed segment of construction. The manual actually goes as far as to state that you shouldn't glue your hull and sponson weapons in place.

All I can say is wow, just wow.

Well that makes a change from "here's a CAD model... figure out which bit you do first on your own".

Glad they're doing that.

Even better is the track assembly, each part is now on the inside labelled with the side and number ("L6") and the best part is that if you manage to feth it up you truly are a slow. I just assembled one side of tracks and it fits flush with no trouble at all.

yeah the track assembly plased me a lot! no more wheels. the only thing im not keen on is the commander hatch is moulded in place. but hey whatever if its as good as you say brook then thank god for that!

Clearly GW has watched our vids and wants to improve their manuals

Thanks for sharing mate!

Yeah, the moulded on cupola is a bit of a silly move but the new tank commander makes up for that a bit.

Now if they would just reprint the manual of that Stompa!

oooh, too right . have you seen the various 3D image mess ups in some of the kits? the ironclad manual has the smoke launcher poking outta the front body, and the ankle joints floating above the feet

I don't own a game store so I can't buy every model I'd like

Still, I like the direction GW is going at long last, sure there are some glitches here and there but with a little time it should be fine.

edit.

Oh BTW! Which direction is that search light facing on your tank?

id guess going by the commander hatch position that it would point off the front right hand side, thats where the brackets seem to be.

Okay, here are some shots. In some places the details aren't as great as with the previous model, mostly the side hatches and the suspension shown. I'm also kinda missing the storage bin that's on the right side next to the engine, it was always a great place to put some jerry cans or camo netting.

The manual tells about the Demolisher..

The manual tells you how to assemble tracks..

The manual explains which weapon is what..

Executioner next to a PIP Vanquisher..

Nice big slot for sticking weapons in, the rear is hollow so it can easily be magnetized..

The side details, a wee bit less detailed than the previous version..

The new exhausts and slightly better detailed engine box..

The commander, has a nice pose alright..

Yep, their new kits are just top of the line. My battle wagon went together so smoothly I was shocked. They are really putting some effort into these things now. I remember my first GW tank build was a basilisk. I was only a 40k gamer for maybe a year so still vERY new to everything. And it was such a pain in the ass to assemble. I had super glue everywhere, and had to take the hull apart twice because the directions back then, were so damn confusing

So the accessory sprue was forsaken so that we get better instructions?

Thanks for the pics, looks like the easiest tank kit to make that I've ever seen. Almost snap-tite easy which seems like the direction GW is going in; great for 12 year old kiddies and old bones alike.

Nice, can't wait to pick one up. But I definately won't be making it with the silly big gun on.

We laughed at him, we leagued with him, old chum.

We laughed - knowing that better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

there's too many good reviews of the new demolisher kit :( I was trying to boycott it because the old russ turret doesn't fit on the new kit but you guys are making it hard for me... :(

and it doesn't help that I just got a whole bunch of teeny magnets to play with too...

Tempted hell! That is the whole reason I am buying three of these kits when they hit...well, maybe two. Still, 5 plasma blasts! GOD! That is so awesome.
