Hey Dakka,

Not sure if anyone plays the new BB video game, but I just started with a friend, and we're confused.

We've been playing hotseat, classic rules. One thing we can't figure out - sometimes I cannot have players move and block. I can move them, but if I try and select an opposing player to block, I get that "cannot do it" icon. Sometimes some players can block across the field, and sometimes players can't even block opposing players 2 squares away. Is there a limited amount of blocks you can perform a turn?

You can only block players that are in an adjacent square. You are allowed 1 blitz action per team turn which allows you to move and throw a block. So use it wisely.

I'd recommend that you read through the Living Rulebook 5 to get a firm grasp of the rules before proceeding further.

Thanks - that makes a lot of sense. we're going through the rulebook, albeit slowly. I only really play at work.

No problems.

There is a lot of helpful documents out there.

Here is one that should really help "kick off" (joke) your BB knowledge: "The art of blocking". Its available from the Games Workshop site (sorry I can't direct link as work blocks anything with game in the title).

Here are some other helpful resources:

This may or may not be relevant, but bear in mind you cannot move your player and then decide you want to block (ie blitz) the opposing player you have just moved next to. You need to declare the blitz before you move.
