Nothing much to say...

We enjoy having some quick patrol games, for about 500pts, that's quick and can yield some surprising results, from a total draw to an utter annihilation!!!

I find that experienced gamers need 20-30 minutes per 500 pts.

Yeah, but we're not that experienced with the new rules....

We still have a gap between the 2nd ed. and the current one... Most hadn't played for years before this summer...

So it's a bit hard to get used to huh....

But I like 5th Ed alot, much faster all in all (even though you cannot customize your troops as thoroughly as before ... )

Most our local games go 3+ hours and that is because of spectators and side-bar conversations. In tournaments I am generally done in 2 hours (be it 40k or Fantasy).

It usually takes about an hour for 1000 to 1500 point games. But it can take up to three hours (not kidding) if people start to walk around the table and argue rules and back seat general for someone.

You should include a point value for reference... i usually play 2000 pt. its highly strategic and takes 3 hrs about. I have on the other hand played a 20 minute 1250 point game against Crons hahaha

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

Anywhere between 1-2 hours for the average 1000-1500pts game. But some larger Apoc games can last 5 or more hours.

Usually about 3 hours, I play 1500-3000 and they mainly take this long because of conversations, rules discussion and general arguments over fluff and rules.

Usually it takes about two hours, but I know a few eldar and tau players that I can get defeated by in about 30 minutes. When your opponent does nothing but move away from you until turn 5 when he takes all the objectives, games don't take very long. -_-

2-3 Hours, but getting shorter as we learn the rules better, learn our codexes better, and learn when we are in an unwinnable position, and call it a day!

Our league escalates +250 pts from an initial 1000 pts, every week of the month. (i.e. - Week 1 - 1000 pts, Week 2 - 1250, etc.) I'm usually done in an hour at the beginning of the month, and come in under 2 toward the end. I haven't played all the folk in my league, but it doesn't look like most games go much past 2 hours.

I can do a 1700pt game with another rules savvy player in about 1 hour.

There are a few "for fun" gamers that take upwards of 4 hours for 1 game because they have to ask about the rules every 5 minutes.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

I find this poll to be abit odd, because it definitely depends on points. At 1000 points my average is an hour an a half, but I have had games last as long as 3 hours (stupid horde orks vs horde orks) and once, about 15 mins (He was playing assault footslogging eldar, and expected me to move at his harlequins, I was sitting back shooting at what I could see, game ended turn 5, neither of us moved our squads an inch.)

maybe you should just add in the points vs time that is selected so lets say i choose 3 hours then you should just think that its about a 2000 point game haha
