Um, you might want to make it clearer if it fires 2 or 4 10'blasts.
Also, improved comms and minesweepers no longer exist

I don't have the new Imperial Guard Codex (yet!), so thanks for that!

Also, I thought it was clear that the "Stormhammer Cannons" (of which this tank as 2) fires 1 10" blast per, so it would be 2 total for the tank. I can see where it might seem a bit up in the air though, so I'll try and think of wording that removes any doubt...

On another note, it has been suggested to me that I should raise the Structure Points to 4 and the rear armor to 13 and keep the points cost at 700.

It has been said that Super Heavy Tanks in 40K suffer from the "Glass Hammer Syndrome" and really aren't properly priced.

BUT, GW set the bar with the Baneblade price, and we've got to live with it!

What does everyone think?

I don't recall the Epic Stormhammer being appreciably harder to kill, aside from dishing out damage faster than a Baneblade. I think it's fine as-is. AV12 rear with SP3 matches the others, so less things to drive questins or confusion.

The Stormhammer has less of a "glass hammer" problem, as it has 2 Primary guns, plus 4 sponsons - it's harder to shut down with a single Shake compared to a Shadowsword.

I think it is a question of points and what a "close in" super-heavy tank "should have" for that points value...

If the Imperium ever got around to optimizing its Tanks and such it wouldn't exist as we know it...

Which is meaningless in a proposed rules forum... much like everything you post in this particular sub-forum.

AV13 rear and 4 SP's is fine for 700. Well... it's not fine, it's about 150-200 points overpriced, but fine if you have the Baneblade at over 600 (even if it's only worth 450).

Sorry, I should have made my post clearer. I think it can be seen that RAI means 2 shots, but i know people who would argue for 4, as it says 2 sinc. Stormhammer Cannons per mount.

Would this: "The Stormhammer is armed with 2 main weapon turrets, each mounting a single set of stormhammer cannons" work better?



On your other point, I think 14 13 13 with 3SP would be fine.
