Chaos Landraiders seem at such a disadvantage to Imperial equivalents for comparable points because the machine spirit rules for the Imperial ones are so much better, essentially enabling the Imperial versions to split fire at BS4. What if the Chaos landraider had the following special rule: Demon Spirit

Power of the Demon Spirit:

Chaos Landraiders have replaced the original machine spirit with a host of demons. These entrapped spirits are legion and can act to control the tank when the crew relinquishes the controls, or are otherwise incapacitated.

Chaos Landraiders ignore shaken and stunned results and are always entitled to fire one more weapon than normally possible even if moving 12. Furthermore Chaos Landraiders that fire may split their fire at any number of targets. Any extra shots at targets beyond the first or for extra weapons performed by the Power of the Demon Spirit count as BS 3 due to the unrestrained power of the demonic hosts competing to control them.

I think the Chaos LR is different because it serves a different purpose altogether. I'd say if they're going to do anything different with it, make it so you don't have to get Lascannons or the Heavy Bolters and save some points on your AV14 Assault ramp.

I think one of the main reasons it is different is that is came out before the new power of the machine spirit. I think that they should leave as is, but make it cheaper, to balance out the cost.

The landraider in the previous codex had a rule called 'Infernal Engine', which was comparable to PotMS. Now all they have done is reduced the cost. Chao LRs can still take demonic possession, which does everything PoTMS does, except allow it to split fire. The reduction of BS doesnt matter too much because all the weapons are twin-linked.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

I don't have a copy of the latest CSM codex, but don't CSM vehicles still have the options for possesed hulls or various Marks of Chaos gods? If they have options not available to their SM counterparts then why have issue with a loyal marine ability not available to the traitor legions? I could be wrong, because I only have the previous CSM codex.

Your side is always the "will of the people" the other side is always fundamentalist, extremist, hatemongers, racists, anti- semitic nazies with questionable education and more questionable hygiene. American politics 101.

The only major options that the CSM LR have are: demonic possession, and a dozerblade.

No they don't. They have the option for a super-extra armor, but that's it. Nothing else that the loyalists can't take (except pintle mounted combi-weapons and havoc launchers)
