Dilema...

I have a day off on Sunday and can get a game in at a FLGS which is 1 hour away (so a 2 hour round trip)
It would be helpful to get a game in before the tournament next weekend given I've only had 1 practice game with the current configuration of my army.
BUT!
I have to finish painting my giant by next week and the 4 and a half hours that I'd spend away would smash out most of the model....

Help me dakka.... you're my only hope.

you only have 1 chance to test out your army, so i say play the game!

Do both.

At the same time.

Play game. Go to tourney. Wear this hat

I say play. Im sure you can pick up the 4 1/2 hours that your are going to spend traveling and playing that you would have spend painting during the week.

I say play, if you think you can make up the painting time later.

Play the game.. it gives you a chance to test you army out.

Paint the giant later

I don't like to test out my armies- I like to keep them under wraps until tournament time as I love the element of surprise so I voted for "paint."

Paint while driving and make a more efficient use of your time.

I voted for paint.

Mostly because I dislike long car rides.

Go for it, at the end of the day you need to work out the few niggles you have in a tourny army, unit configurations etc.

That being said you are playing Night Goblins....still the fanatics could with a run out to make sure they behave themselves come the big day.

I vote "Play", simply because more gaming is good. I know you, and you'll make the time to paint the giant.

Play, realise that your build doesn't work, throw the giant in the bin then paint something else.

Where will you get the hat? Not even frazz can teleport such an object into the passenger seat of a car moving at a variable speed on a sunday afternoon, with or without weather conditions. Or maybe he can.

Yes you should absolutely play, you've devoted enough money time and effort to this hobby that at this point, you should be able to paint the model during the tourney, and even if you can't do that, this hobby runs a signifigant portion of your life, you will find time to finish painting whether you want to or not.
