Personally I'm an injured Marine thats currently going to college full time (majoring in Information Systems, was majoring in Professional Pilot but its too expensive and it hurts for me to use rudder pedals so I'm going to heal up before flying again).

Today's the first day of classes for me, can't wait to meet some new freshman ladies around the campus

I've got a diploma in IT but the industry is a horrible one and there's no work in it so these days I work a kiosk / bookstore at the station until something better comes along.

I recieve a pittance from the state to take care of my disabled sister who I live with and I had my own small engraving business, but that's gone down the crapper, so I'm considering getting a second job but my enthusiasm is low.

I'm a software development manager for one of the largest software companies in the world. I can safely say that everyone here has used code that I've written without even realizing it

My division writes file viewers and translators. We sell components to other companies, who then put these tools into their products. We're on over 15 different operating systems, including several mobile platforms, and embedded in many internet apps that people use every day without thinking about it.

Personally, I still do some coding, and manage a team of engineers that support the core of our system. I've been with this division for 13 years now.

I'm an engineer for a small IC-design company that focuses on RF circuits.

I take the schematics that are designed and basically make the blueprints for what will eventually be fabricated onto silicon wafers that will be turned into random communications chips.

I'm a web designer working for an international vacation company. I went to school wanting to do movie special effects, somehow I ended up making websites instead.

I've just started working as a Commercial Manager for one of the major Construction groups in the UK.

I got made redundant earlier on in the year, from another major Construction company, but was fortunately planning to move to my current employer already (saw the writing on the wall last year!). So I was lucky that it worked out really well, it was touch and go for a few months over the summer.
