Power Armor like all marines? The tank commander models that stick up from the hatches have it on, so I'd imagine the crew wears it as well.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Power armour. All of the tank crew bits on Marine tanks are wearing power armour. Not sure how they ever actually fit through the hatches, but there you go

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

thats what i thought but that has to be a stupid hassle, i see the commander cause he exposes himself, but i would think that drivers and such would wear scout type armour

I thought that marine tanks were generally "manned" by servitors, with just the commander telling them what to do? I could have sworn I read that somewhere...

Vehicle crews are supposedly drawn from the reserve companies. So the battle companies 2 through 5 are generally fielded as infantry with vehicle and bike crews coming from the reserve companies 6 through 9. The crews are fully fledged marines and I guess they need to be ready at a moments notice to fill a hole in an infantry squad somewhere.

Actually, in the Imperial Armor books, it talks about how Marine drivers use their Power Armor systems to link with their vehicles. This enables them to control their vehicles better, as well as use existing implants and armor systems to process information.

Also, if the vehicle is destroyed, the driver can still function as a Space Marine.

One more thing...the models and the "actual" vehicles are in a different scale. Just look at the Rhino. In the Space Marine Codex where the Marine is standing next to the Rhino in order to show scale, the Rhino is HUGE. The model is not.

Hope this helps...

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

I always wanted to model some Marine tanks with a tech-adept commanding some hard-wired firing servitors in the back. It makes more sense to me to have some Mechanicus meddling with the vehicle operation... the drivers would still be standard crew-marines, but it seems much more efficient to have some servitors driving the guns instead of battle-hardened needed-on-the-field Marines.
