So what's everyones opinion on the South Carolina congressmens outburst during the Obama speech, wednesday.

I think he was wrong to do it, however I think it's getting blown out of proportion, because he did it to " Lord Obama".

The dems booed and heckled Bush in 2005, and I don't remember all of the calls for censure then.

I think there's no excuse for doing it. One should be self controlled especially as an elected official. His "you lie" was a bit of an exaggeration, it should have been "you twist the truth!".

I think they're both embarrassments. It's childish. What the dems did to Bush was ridiculous and what Wilson did to Obama was ridiculous as well. With that said, the whole thing's being blown way out of proportion as you could barely hear him in the audio.

Call me cynical, but breaking rule #1 never strikes me as smart, and breaking rule #1 by attacking the mod of the forum you're attacking them in seems foolish. Especially because 'they're only taking action against me because I made them mad' doesn't fly.

You also fight with dogma, r3ds8tn, and basically every international poster on this forum like its a third grade schoolyard slapfight. Though more realistically you just don't want to take your nappy time and keep shouting while the grown ups are talking.


As an aside, does this forum have a method of banning people from specific sections only? In the future when you inevitably ban me, while keeping other notorious trolls around, I would prefer just to be kicked out of off topic. I have plans to keep doing my modeling blog (someday) and I like commenting on army lists and codex rumors.

Calling someone a liar IS different than booing them...a lot different...but probably everyone should just stay quiet during a Presidential address to a joint session of Congress no matter who's talking, unless the President declares martial law and that he's taking over and shooting anyone who doesn't like it...something like that might deserve to get booed...

I thought it was silly, especially after he apologized so quickly.

Any point he was trying to make was completely lost to most, and any impact it would have had was ran over by the train of apology, which was needed.

It is nice and all that other countries like to have their politicians liberally throw poop at one and other, but I fail to see how that bears any real relevance to the standards in the U.S. Well... they eat a lot of croissants in France... so we should too; and in England they have tea, so we should too. And in Russia they like Vodka... so we should too. We do have these things, but in Ameri'cuh, we do things civil-like ya' see.
