Did I ever say I sided with the democrats before? I believe that there is a time and place, and a democratic government can not be led well when its leaders act like children utterly lacking in tact or civility. Civilians can't protest inside the senate, and thats all this was. A whine. He might as well have been wearing a "Not my president shirt" and been holding a big sign. It had no bearing on the speech, conversation, and did nothing productive.
It was the outburst of a child, pandering to a crowd of ignorant mouthbreathing lunatics that would see him on TV and shout "feth yeah!" into their screen.
I hate, with every fiber of my being, the childishness that has taken hold of our media and government. On every side.

What's up?
Personally I like this. The PM's need to be quick on their feet to answer their critics in parliament. I wish we had some way for the executive branch to engage verbally "Live" and mano ee mano with the congress, like the way parliamant does it.
I don't like it during speeches, however. Let the guy make his point and then criticize afterward.
I was a bit harsh. I am sure not all statements made were lies or willful fabrications. I apologize.
However I think Obama needs to be called on the these things now, for the good of the nation. We are at the edge of an abyss, and can no logner go quietly into the night.

My fibers come in all sorts of different colors and even different styles...
Just saying...
Actually I think it would be quite interesting to be made of fibers... instead of being covered by them. If I were made of fibers I would steer well clear of an open flames, that is the point I was making. Scream loud but with great prowess... that makes no sense? Sure, why not.

Unfortunately your party is completely unwilling to do so. Instead preferring 24 hour talk of death panels and the socialist agenda. You have to be willing to actually talk about it as an adult to do so. And the number of conservatives willing to do so can be counted on one hand. The democrats are already decisively divided along far too many lines to pass the realistic and good solutions without needless bickering and infighting, and the conservatives wouldn't let it go through anyway. Instead preferring to vote along party lines to deny the socialist agenda and please their undereducated and ignorant demographic all the way to the bank (The bank being the total failure of the U.S. healthcare system). Both parties are paralyzed, one by its total lack of cohesion, and the other by it's total lack of balls in the leadership and brains in the populace.

In the House of Commons there is a line on the floor a couple of feet in front of the benches on both sides of the house. Anyone who puts their foot across that line gets warned by the Speaker.
The reason? The two lines are at sword's length from each other.

YOU LIE!!
Sorry couldn't resist.
Anyway, describing the Republican party demographic as "undereducated and ignorant" is pretty darn Undereducated and ignorant.
Both parties have undereducated and ignorant people..look at ACORN for an example.
I do agree that niether party seems to be willing to actually fix this thing right now.
We need a third party, and we need it regardless of the effectiveness of the other two. I suppose it comes down to people not actually wanting to fund a third party because there would be no gain from it, at least in the short term.

well If the speaker of the house makes as good a job of it as michael martin made of this, somebodies dieing.
I for one welcome our new mother in law overlords and am shocked, just shocked that there would ever be a complaint about you...

True enough. The left has an immense share of it's own idiots. Hell, one of my professors is a harvard business educated woman, who midway through her life went green and now refuses indoor plumbing and wont get her kids inoculated. I hope her kids get polio and she gets swine flu so I can be spared her hippy trash in class day in and day out. I should probably rephrase and say that the democrats demographic is happy, even if they don't understand why and the conservatives are unhappy, despite not understanding why. The American populace is ignorant and stupid, and unfortunately, now that the 24 hours are ruled by ad revenue they are the ones being pandered to in the media. They also, thanks to the internet, think that they have the right to open their fething mouths. I mean they do, freedom of speech and all, they just don't have the restraint not too.
The two party system is crippled by the unerring ignorance of the voting populace, and the utter corruption and laziness of the media. Welcome to the downfall of democracy. It won't survive the populaces ability to actually use its freedom of speech.
Two party system failed....

No, what we need is a four party system. The left, the right, the extreme left, and the extreme right. As happens in most other democracies. Unfortunatly, no party is willing to lose the voting block inherent to it's extreme. Thus the left panders to hippie communists, and the right panders to mouthbreathing warhawks and drunk factory workers.

Now thats an efficacious mixing of tradition and danger. We only had members beat each other with canes (ok the occasional duel, but that was outside).

They had firearms back then too, it's a strange rule indeed.

Saying something like, 'You lie', is far too gauche and crude for our politics. Instead, you should laugh as loud as you can, sneer openly, and spend all your spare time coming up with carefully polished witty comments that make fun of the person speaking. That's what our House of Commons does. It's a wonder they get anything done.
In Asian and Latin American countries, their governmental assemblies regularly get into massed fistfights over the slightest disagreement. Our elected leaders are a bunch of wimps who just sit there and occasionally make a snarky remark. Vince McMahon for president! Dana White for VP! That's what I'm taking about.
Here you go. Go read that for a few hours and leave the rest of us alone.
GG is still right though. Just because he didn't add on a specific adjective to the front of the term doesn't make him wrong. And he was definitely more right than those who labeled America as a democracy.

Why do you keep referring to the US as a Democracy? It's a Republic.
Actually its a democratic republic. Republic through representative democracy. You should probably google what these terms actually mean.
Actually, it's a Republic. The little "democratic" part you like to stick in front there I'm guessing is a reference to the popular election of our Representatives and Senators. Maybe a little quote from that document...what's it called? Oh yeah... "The Constitution of the United States":
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government..."
Unlike you Shuma I didn't sleep through school. No need for Google.

It's both, he's just nitpicking. A car is a vehicle, but it is also a car. America is a republic, but it is also a democracy. He's not "more right". We're both right, except insofar as I am just using a term and claiming both are accurate and he's saying only his way is right.
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government..."
Unlike you Shuma I didn't sleep through school. No need for Google.
Case in point. It's why I don't like arguing with children.

Wrexasaur is not to be held accountable for views on himself, thus forth and thus with (wist, whith, withering... hmmm) and this day shall be known in infamy... lost it, totally lost it...
The shoe, you see, is indeed a metaphor... for (or phor, like phat... much cooler, Thor would sound better don't you think?) a "thing" that we all dwell in the place with the pudding. Not the cave... you silly neanderthal. WREX SMASH BRIZZAIN!!!

Flaming poo works better... proceed.
I once met a man who drank gasoline in attempts to bypass the need for a ignition apparatus... needless to say his plan was ill-founded in fact beyond which he could rationally comprehend.
A DUEL YOU SAY?

America elects it's first black president and tries to overcome inherent racism, discrimination and arrogance for the first time since the Civil War...
And all we get is tripe like this thread?
