Subject: Saint Celestine- angel wings?

Hey peeps,
As you may or may not know, I plan on including witch hunters with my dark angels army for apocalypse battles. Naturally I've got my eye on saint celestine as a possible special character to include in my forces. Whilst i don't mind the current standard model for her I would prefer to try and make her look well...more angelic? The only part im thinking of changing is the backpack/wings she comes with with as I'd like to put feathered wings on her instead. The problem is i have no idea which parts from models i could use for the wings let alone how i'd go about doing it?
Would be VERY grateful for any tips etc! =P
Thanks,
Minaith

Reaper also do a set of angel wings that would be suitable (they come in a pack of several diffent sizes) - also available as bat-wings - if you wanted a non-GW option.

The way I see it you have two options: 1st is winged back packs, 2nd is wings growing from the shoulder blades.
If you want to go down the winged backpack route you could do as i did with my Raptors.
Obviously using a sisters pack and feathered wings.
Here is a how to link: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/224198.page
If you want wings growing from the shoulder blade area just test fit, cut some bits off, pin them in place and work the green love madjick!
I also looked up 'Celestine' in the Dakka Gallery: http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-search.jsp?dq=celestine
You could PM the owners of these pics/ models to see if they have pics of the backs or any ideas?
Whatever route you choose just make sure to have fun and don't drop her when she is done!

Thanks, thats cleared things up abit for me! I think I'll try and aim for wings growing from the shoulder blades, although i'll have to practice with greenstuff first since I've never needed to use it before (i was never that into converting until recently). I think I'll call into my local GW sometime this week and maybe get some more tips on how to use the green stuff. I'd like to get pretty good at using it since it can work miracles.
but yeah, those ideas are both pretty good so im sure I'll end up trying to do either one really. Thanks a bunch!

you probably won't be able to get the wings on her shoulders as the Iron halo will get in the way unless you don't use her jump pack.
There isn't much room between her shoulder pads to put the wings so if you can get plastic wings that you can shave down a bit will be your best bet.
But my honest opinion would be to skip the wings all together.
*edit
If you are really gonna go with wings may i suggest these awesome wings

Hmm, I'm not really sure on the standard backpack that comes with the set. The main reason I've been thinking of changing it when i get celestine is that in all art work ive seen in the codex, shes always seen with a pair of 'natural' wings. Another thing that bugs me about the standard back bit is that if it is just a jumppack covered in some form of garment then wouldnt the garment set on fire? sounds dumb(and a little amusing!) i know, but it just bugs me!

Reaper Miniatures Angel of Peace - These are the perfect size and shape for a flying canoness. I used a pair myself on a Rackham model and it was perfect. Because they weren't too thick had the option of bending them into the proper pose. Cheers.

I friggin' LOVE ebay! Ton of bits that start at $0.99. If you get lucky, that's what you pay PM for the name of the seller I get bits from. I think dropping his name would be considered spam. If you need something small or specific, he has it
