Rubbish film, but IMO it had the best ending ever.

Probably Nurgle, Africa has the lock on that.

Interesting....sort of like the ending to the Sopranos....

I'm both selfish and rational. I'm scheming, secretive and manipulative; I use knowledge as a tool for personal gain, and in turn obtaining more knowledge. At best, I am mysterious and stealthy; at worst, I am distrustful and opportunistic.

Lunahound funny you should mention Blade Runner. That particular scene isn't the end. So when you do get a chance to see it make sure you watch the directors cut and not the original release. It has one of the best endings I have ever seen. The original release is missing a 30 second scene which completely changes the climax of the movie.

BrookM beat me to it with mentioning Unforgiven, but the end of The Game is fantastic. I wish that my memory could be wiped after I watched that movie, but then again I would probably spend all day watching it.

The Transformers: The Movie. In less than 5 minutes, we go from the Giant Robot raking the planet and about to digest/slag the heroes to said heroes happily chanting after Roddy makes his big meaningless political speech right after they blow up the Giant Robot.
Actually, I think Airplane has the best ending:
[After the credits roll]
Man in Taxi: Well, I'll give him another twenty minutes; but that's it!

Adding in the ending to Hero. That is the closest a movie has ever come to making me cry.

The best ending is the end to the worst film you had no choice but to sit through.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

I find the ending to The Last Samurai to be particularly moving. Still, the revelation in The Empire Strikes Back is amazing, which is why my kids will watch the original trilogy before Episodes 1 -3.
And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......
