So..there's a site I read ( and occasionally link to) called Topless Robot. It's a geek site that showcases various stupid/geek things etc.
One of their regular features is "Fan Fic Friday" in which they pull up some awful and nearly always sexually deviant fan/slash fic from parts of the web. Many of these are terrifying and will make you weep for the future of humanity.
Anyway seemingly the author of said yarn found out about this ...publicity... and responded..sort of.. which led to the development of a new meme as you can see. The trek/hats one on page 3 is ace.
and it would seem this war o'the web is not over yet.

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Wow... this is seriously hilarious with a funny mustache, top hat, and cane gilded with comedy gold.
I mean for FRAKKING REALL THOUGH? I had a hard time taking some of the comments seriously though, the one guy with the little mini-essay about how bad he feels about feeling bad about the whole thing being bad and the...
