So I frequent the site the Tyranid Hive and there was a thread of someone asking if there was an online gaunt painter and apparently there was but it is now nowhere to be found. I know especially with bug choices you can have some crazy color combinations, well this might save you some paint. See how it might look.

I spent last night working out the art, code and stuff for a Tyranid Hive online painter. Don't know how buggy it is, worked well enough for me. I just drew up a bug template and added some various colorable sections. Was more interested in actually getting all the actionscript worked out, I forgot how much I despise the flash UI

Click the link down at the bottom to go play around with some bug colors, I am hosting it on my website now see how that goes, its a pretty small file. Please post any thoughts or suggestions or cool color schemes. There is probably a way to save your screen image as a jpg if you want to save the way it looks, but I dont know how. There is probably a way I can code in a save as jpg into the flash file but its no written in now.

I am trying to figure out how to make swatches of all the GW paints or at least figure out a way to give a hexdecimal value so you guys can reproduce these colors outside of this thing.

You can type your hive fleet name into the part where it has "hive fleet yournamehere" so when you save it it will display your name along with your beautiful colors.

*VERSION 0.7* Using a different color picker, added Hex color support and it will display the hex code to the side to share with others or to take screen shot to remember where you were at. Still working on a saturation bar. When I do this I might add black/white primer option.

Umm, except I can't get any color but black.

It's a great start, but no saturation control? This means that the whole thing has to be bright colors, no neutrals like....brown, payne's grey, mauve, burgundy, bourbon, sage, sand (to name a few.... ;-))

I particularly like the way you can switch between models and it remembers the colours. Some way to save the list would be cool but maybe a lot more work.

I've tried it out, and it's definately good stuff! It'll be even better when the Carnifex is availiable, too... Now all we need is an IG/Cadian painter. "Mwhahaha!..." *Choke!*

Can you possibly tailor it to also use the colour range of the GW paints?

Would make quick referencing and palate testing a lot easier.
