Subject: Converting a Ork DefKopta to a NOB biker.
With the purchase or trade of the AoBR box set may of my fellow players/ hobbyist have been left with a large amount of deffkoptas. I for one do not field a large contingent of these so they looked to be the perfect medium for converting over to NOB Bikers. In this LINE I will go into the how to's of chopping a perfectly good model into a unique piece for your ORK army. To start with the Deffkopat pilots are just a bit bigger than you average ORK BOY so that lends to the NOB Biker IDEA.
The next phase is getting rid of the things you do not need, like the rockets on the front and the tail rotor, so by using a fine bladed coping saw i removed the unwanted parts. marked with black marker.
The wheels took some thought but I finally stumbled on some 2 inch PVC pipe, that I had left over form a remodel on my house, which I cut into two 1/4 inch thick sections. More to follow as time allows.
I didn't get to much more done yesterday, since Iwas working mostly on my dred. The main fun for the bike was cutting down the wheels to form blades. //SAFETY NOTE: wear eye protection and a mask when cutting PVC pipe with a high speed rotary tool.// I started off doing it by hand, but my patience ran out after a few minutes. Over all I'm ok with the way these two turned out, but I wouldn't do it this way again. I used some green stuff on the inside to make treads for the drive sprockets I finished up today. The sprockets were to easy, thanks to an old paint brush handle and my drill. I used some Leman Russ road wheels and put the open end on the broken brush handle. Then put the other end in the drill and cranked it up while I put a small flat blade to the middle. It worked just like a lathe, I was done with the cutting inside of two minutes.
Its been a busy week for me and I have only just today had the time to work on the project, but I got a lot done on it. So in order to give the wherels a guide I used the tail fins of the deffkopta that I took off the back and moved them up front. Then I added some old round spru and some cutty bits. The "Brakes" were the landing gear, but I added some plastic pipe to it and a bit from the meks pole to make a piston of sorts. I remover the heads of the top two rokits and replaced them with the barrels from a pair of big shootas I wasn't using.
Then once all that was done it was off to the paint area and well there it is.
I may make some more of these with out the wheels just as deffkoptas they make sone nice speeders.
I still need to base it more, but for the most part I'm happy with the results. Next wil be the monocycle.

Now that this one is done I'll start on some more monocycles to add the the mob. Here is the one that is already done. It is my pain boy biker NOB. If any one wants to know how to build one just keep checking back. I'll be building two more like it.

it is amazing what you can get done when you get a day off. I marked the areas to be removed for the conversion, then its time for the saw, knife and all things cutty. Which leaves you with a suitab;le base.. Save the bitz they come in handy. I use the skids for a wheel guide on the back of the bike. This picture was from my Pain Boy Biker. Once again I'll be using 2inch PVC pipe for the wheel, but instead of cutting down the wheel I'll[img] add bits of plastic card to make if cutty and spiky.

Back t work after a long break. I've got the majority of the bike done, the teeth of the main wheel are filed out and most of the bitz are added, I put a cybork PK on this one, the only thing left to do is the green stuff work which will be the center spikes of the wheel ans repaiuring the top of the seat that was cut away removing the main rotor assembly
