I just bought space hulk, and have already played through half the missions, but have now hit a major snag:

The models are beautiful, and it would be a crying shame not to use them in a 40k army, but... I play chaos space marines, not BAngels.

So, do I: A- Avoid the problem and keep them as purely SH miniatures
B- Shell out on starting a BAngels army
C- Commit heresy and file off the BA insignia, and green stuff them up?
(Sorry if I offended anyone with that last one)

Any help / moral guidance?

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

I've always wondered, from a fluff perspective, how the whole "I'm turning my face from the Emporers light" actually goes....

I mean, imagine a Terminator turns to Chaos, he's probably got a lot on his mind, he's probably not too fussed about the Iconography on his armour....so, perhaps it would be massively acceptible for a squad of Blood Angels to simply turn rogue, and get on with the job of causing chaos...rather than looking all goth and stiching skulls to their shoulder pads....

Man down, Man down....

I thought about it, but they look too nice to deface like that. Not worth it when the end result wouldnt be detailed anyways.

squads don't turn from the emperor by themselves... normally its entire companies of a chapter.

from what i've read, it seems like some massive tragedy hits the chapter, and they make a tough call.... one that seems good, but either forces them to fight imperial forces or to take some heretical action (ally with xenos, or something), which is followed by another similar choice, in which again they do something heretical, and then after a string of choices like this they are declared traitoris excommunicate from the imperium by the inquisition, and are being hunted... then its just a small step towards warship of the imperium's most hated enemy to get revenge on the imperium that turned its back on them.

chaos gods of course can have a hand in this... tzeentch would invisibly set up these choices, and steer the chapter down the path of damnation...

It's actually quite common for a single squad/marine to turn, whole chapters/companies are much rarer, read the constantinius liberation in the chaos dex.

What puzzles me is why they get rid of the crux terminatus that apparently renders them protection, I'd have thought they'd enjoy the irony of a piece of the Emperor's armour protecting the heretics!

I went with choice B. I shelled out for a new army. Funny thing is, I don't plan on using the termies for my core list.

Just get a dreadnought or two and do a counts-as Deathwing army with your Blood Angels. The wargear combinations in those squads are illegal in a regular Terminator squad anyway. I think it comes out to like 745 points, and you're basically getting 2 squads, Belial and a librarian.

a or b but not c. i'm not sure what your level of skill is with green stuff and conversions but in general i'd recommend holding off on filling all those BA bits. either enjoy the termies in hulk or throw them on 40k bases so you can get some 40k love in.

Bangelwing sounds tempting...

However if I kept them as traitor Angels, I would just need to sort the wings, as blood drops are good for everybody.

Unfortunately, I have to confess to a plan to start Loganwing when the new Wolf codex comes out .

As much as people are going "OMFGLOGANWING", Deathwing is still better.

Loganwing Costs more points, are not Fearless and have to buy Drop Pods. So they are an even SMALLER model count army than Deathwing but just as easily killed. The only advantage are the 3++ storm shields.

Ah, But Loganwing is still better.

Why?

Loganwing are Space Wolves .

Stick em on 40k bases and put them into a SM army with a decent codex, My space marines are red, but not blood angels. You could make em blood ravens, or Red Templars, or Crimson Valkeries or whatever. I think it'd be a shame to start converting those SH pieces and not be happy with the results.

There are people, I'm sure who have the conversian skills to make SH termies even more badass though. I just wouldn't recomend it unless your confidant you can do it.

The correct option is always the option that means getting more goodies, so you made the right choice going with B. Welcome to the fold. I started playing Blood Angels because the store was giving away a free hat with the aquila if you bought $100 of Marines lol

"Banglewing" just sounds wrong... besides being phonetically incorrect (blood ANGLE? Like a perpendicular or cosine angle? Or like fisherman's angle?) it also casts connotations of "dangle"... and that makes me giggle.

The problem with this is that they don't have legal equipment for any Marines but Wolf Guard terminators and Deathwing. They have an awkward mix of close combat and ranged weapons that aren't a legal combination in any other codex.
