I got the new White Dwarf last night and saw all the new wolf stuff and they look incredible. I'm really looking forward to getting the codex and reading the special rules etc but from the looks of things GH get two special weapons and the sagas add a lot of bonuses to play without drawbacks (apart from a lack of honour which in purely tornament terms is just fluff).

I presume that others have seen the new stuff what do people think.

P.S. That Giant wolf Riding hero looks so good to paint

I like the new Space Wolves because I will actually be using the wolf-themed bits in general, rather than just keeping them to the HQ and the occasional Long Fang or Land Raider. It is the Wolftime, brothers.

The new codex is great though I have yet to play a game under it.

Quickly found myself running out of points - especially with my necessity of having Grimnar and at least one Terminator troop.

EDIT: Regarding wolftime, do you think Russ will be wanting all his pieces of armour back? Awkward.

The only problem I am going to have is staying within the points limits (whatever they may be) I love Ragnar and have decided despite already having the model painted to a good standard I' m going to make a new one from all the new bits, Ulrik is as hard as ceramite, Bjorn is the coolest looking dreadnaught ever and NJal is going to s**t all over deepstriking sheesefest deamons as seen in the battle report. The other new guys look great I can just imagine the look of horror on someone's face when they Abaddon kills the Trickster bloke and then gets sucked into a Stasis Grenade mwahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

would it be totally slowed if i started SW when i've already got 4 armies? (none of which are over 2000pts) Or should i just convert my SM to SW? Or just screw the whole thhing and concentrate on my orks? The new SW look so cool it's just too tempting. I havent even seen the codex yet.

I don't think it would be stupid at all I am trying to avoid replacing all my SW's with the new models and instead I intend to get them a pack at a time and work on making them look really good rather than rushing the paint jobs and conversions to get them on the battlefield as quickly as possible. I would avoid converting your existing marines as it may look like a patch up job and you may regret doing it.

My wolf lord rides a thunder wolf and is armed with wolf claws, a wolf tooth necklace, a wolf tail talismen is accompanied by two fenerisan wolfs and sings the saga of the wolfkin For the WOLFTIME!

Yeah .. If I get one it will be riding a de chaosified jugger.

I played against the new Space Wolf codex with my Tau (and do Tau suck such so much

now) and was tabled. Right before I watched the Wolves and CSM list trade blows for five turns to a draw. If the wolf player had been able to get his named psyker to go off then it would have over for chaos. It is such a powerful list especially in an all drop pod list. That lone wolf guy is a bad

himself. 2+ save 3+ inv save with feel no pain. Anybody playing against him it is so worth the points to drop as many long range pie plates or plasma fire into him as you can. HE SUCKS

I gotta say, despite how much fun we make of it, I actually really like the rider. If he was standing up, and not stupidly perched on an ugly dog-rat-wolf thingy, he would make a fantastic commander.

As it is though, he's a great man ruined by what's between his legs.

I own two Chihuahuas and that has had me in stitches.

On topic - The amount of stuff on the sprues can really make for a unique looking army.

I'm still stuck between Orks and Wolves though.

Not my thing. I like Space Wolves, but my own SW army is mostly just normal SM figures painted in the proper paint scheme. Not a long haired, fanged, wanna-be barbarian in sight.
