Post your results. I am guessing Daemons will take a lot of top spots followed by VC's. I played the TK's.

1 Daemons
2 TK
3 Chaos Warriors?

Beasts of Chaos suprises me. Any info about that list? Congrats on a second place finish in the prelims.

I played against the list in round 1.

From memory:
Khazrak
Great Bray Shaman, power stone, wild call staff
3 shaman

5 Chariots (4 x Mark of Khorne, 1 x Mark of Tzeentch)
Khornegors, FC (forget how many)
3 Dragon Ogres w/GW
3 Spawn of Slaanesh
numerous beast herds and hound packs

The guy who runs them is really good and made it to the finals last year. I had a minor loss against the list thanks to my Dreadlord on BD whiffing his attacks, losing combat, rolled a "12" for leadership and a "4" for my flee move. Good game though and well fought.

Nice to know. I have always liked the look of the beastmen army but have never seen anyone in my area run one.

So far it looks like Daemons are taking most of the top spots as expected I think.

Glad to see Teclis had a good showing somewhere. He did great for me, but just wasn't enough.

Still waiting for semi-finals locations to be posted. All second the High Elf qualifying they seem to struggle more than others against Daemons and VC's.

What did the Lizardmen lists that made the cut look like? My friend came in second playing 4 Engines and 2 Oldbloods at our tournament and he is very interested in what the other Lizardmen players were running.

Also I'm curious to see what the HE lists looked like if anyone has an idea of that

The 2nd place winner at my tourny (and the one who wiped every one of my models off the board) had Kroak, another Slann, 2 Skink Priests on Engines, 2 Templeguard units for the Slann, 4 squads of 10 Skinks, and 3 squads of 3 terradons.

I did so horribly because I hadn't played Lizardmen yet with thier current book, and had no idea what to expect.

My list had Teclis, another Archmage, 2 level 2 mages, BSB with BoS, large block of spearmen, 2 min'd archers, large phoenix guard, large white lions, 2 flanking units of SM's, 3 RBTs and 1 Eagle.

Atlanta

Hobby Hangout, Douglasville GA-

1) O & G - Solid battle line of Orcs, led by Gorbad, Skarsnik and about 50 gobbo's on one side of the line, flanked on one side by 2 giants, 5 spider riders, and a chariot, other flank had 5 spider riders and 10 savage boar boys.
2) Empire (me) - Like I'd tell? - Had a solid day, Minor victories against all 3 opponents (including the #1 list) under normal scoring, draws with 2-3 bonus points in all 3 under 'Ard Boyz scoring.
3) Lizardmen - Kroak in 20 temple guard, 2x10 skinks, 2x20 saurus, 1 saurus lord w/blade of realities, skink priest on foot, 2x skink priest on engines.
4) Tomb Kings: Khalida, 2x20 tomb guard (one with reform banner), 2x10 archers, 5x horse archers, 3 lich priests (heirophant had flight item), tomb king, bone giant, SSC, 3 scorpions, 1 tomb swarm.

#4 may be moving on to semis, as #1 probably won't be able to (didn't even know this was an "official" tournament until we told him afterwards).

Phoenix Games in Atlanta had:

#1: Daemons of Chaos (Tzeentchin flying circus)
#2: Empire (3 stanks, Karl Franz on Dragon, Popemobile)
#3: Lizardmen (Kroak, another Slaan)

Tower Games in Atlanta had:

#1: Chaos Dwarfs (2 Earthshakers, 4 bolt throwers, 2 death rockets, Great Taurus)
#2: Chaos Daemons (Thirster + GUO, infantry blocks, 4 units of Flesh Hounds)
#3: Lizardmen (One Slaan, one Oldblood, 2 Engines, one Steg w/warspear)

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

I don't play Fantasy (yet), but I just read results on the local forum. Granden City, MI:

#1 Dwarfs - Thorek Army solely focused on Shooting and Anti Magic - he had 9 War Machines, Thunderers and an amazing 8 Dispel Runes and 3 Spell Eating Runes.

#2 Dark Elves with Malekith.

#3 Tied for third - both with VC armies.

Apparently Dwarfs aren't having such a bad time fighting back against the Daemon-tides. Considering how magic-heavy the meta-game is, I'm not terribly surprised.
