I'm new here and wondered if it was possible for a squad of space marines to join the orks, also I was thinking of a looted rhino or razorback that's easy and original as I have NEVER converted anything before...EVER!
thanks

You can not take space marines in and ork list.
You cannot take orks in a space marine list.
Ork do not have any other army to ally with.

There are rules for a looted rhino in IA:APOC but I don't remember if it also has the rules for it in 40k in there.

You can't combine armies unless there is a specific rule stating that you can (daemonhunters and witchunters, for instance) but you're more than welcome to orky up any vehicle you'd like to count as a battlewaggon or a trukk or somesuch.
I'm most definitely not the person to give you tips on exactly how to do this, but check out the Painting and Modeling section of Dakka and you'll see all sorts of great ideas for ork vehicles. The Gallery is also full of examples that can get your creative ideas flowing.
Best of luck and welcome!

Yeah as Cracker said, saw this same post earlier.
I cant really think of any kind of situation where SM and orks would join. I mean the fluff of blood axes seems to hint at some form of trading with humans to get the best deal (or hack them to bits where they stand if the oomie gets too big fer iz bootz)
But it just wouldnt happen really

You could always get some marines, model mind controlling caps on to their heads and have a mek with a little device control in the unit and use that as lootas or something? just beef out the guns... actually I might do this now hehe

Basically any thing is legal as long as you are playing with friends that understand what you are doing. As far as a tournament goes, that is up to the ones running it. There have been many players that have had "counts as" armies. You'd have to ask the ones running it and you'd have to tell each player you are play against what they "count as".
Ok, that aside..... IMO, it sounds like a fine idea as long as you model them in a way so they "look" like what you are fielding them as. I agree with Buttlerthepug in the modeling of control caps.
The looted rhino, I have a friend that is play orks and he used a chaos rhino as one of his trucks. He put lots of battle damage on it and glued the top hatches open (as a truck is open top). He also battle damage the back plate so that it was always open. Finally he added ork symbols from other ork sprues. This should be something you can start with because he is very new to 40k also.
Hope this helps.

Looted wagons are just Rhinos, stat-wise. You can use one of those, but that's about it unless you get creative. I made a Marine dreadnought into an Ork Deff Dread by converting it to look "Orky" which is a very fluffy thing to do.
However, Marines joining the Orks would never, ever happen. However, using Marine bits for various things; Marine missile launcher for rokkit launchas, heavy bolters for big shootas, or even bits of their armor to put on Orks as 'ard boyz would be acceptable.

Yea you want to save some cash, buy some old Rhinos off of ebay and such places. I have 6 trukks, and they are ALL old school rhinos. I just hacked 3/4 of the tops off and backs. I moved the front armor part up a smidge to act as a cab. Then I simply widen them a bit. Works rather well and looks cool too. Infact I have 1 WIP shot of one of my trukks.

My Orks - Da Dark Angelz - are based on the idea of Blood Axes that think they are Dark Angels Space Marines. One of my future plans is a land speeder inspired Deffkopta. If you are interested - the link to my thread is below in my signature.

Yea you can loot really anything as stated a year ago. The only problem Id see, for example the looted landspeeder for kopta, is that its alot bigger then a kopta, and therefore would make it easier for your enemy to hit it. Ive seen people convert landspeeders into buggies though, and it looks really cool.
As for the Mek, Orks are ALOT larger then SM, so you CAN stick a mek on a SM bike, but the bike will be a bit tiny. I used part of a bike for a bikerboss I made, and had to widen the SM bike part considerably.
Good luck on your Orkses

There are plenty of examples of looted stuff orks us on DakkaDakka.
Keep in mind that it doesnt have to be humie stuff.
If a bigmek can get his hands on it he can make something out of it.

Absolutely untrue.
You CAN take SM's in an Ork list.
You CAN take Orks in an SM list.
Orks can ally with anyone you want them to.
They're your models, and you can do anything you wnt to/with them.
It's your game, and you can play it however you want to.
...provided you can find an opponent to play your nonstandard army or game against.
