Hello guys! I remember fable TLC and that was a good game. Now I'm wondering is the sequel worth getting? My pal says it's a fine game but I played a joke on him last week and he may be lying through his teeth. So from your experience, how is it?

I liked it. A bit more in depth than the first one and some of the achievements are just fun getting. The dog is a great tool.

Maybe I've become a bit more of a dedicated gamer recently, but I remember taking weeks on the first Fable, and I finished the story in Fable 2 (while doing just about every side quest offered) in about 3 days. Was not impressed.

Your mileage may vary.

I think you've become more of a gamer(or have more time). The original's story is only about 10 hours long, as opposed to the 16-20 of Fable 2's main story.

Actually with the expanded content the original's story is about 11 and a half hours long if you watch all the videos.

The second was ok. I didn't much enjoy the "sims" aspects of making a family, etc. Seemed too cheesy. I really just like smashing face and being evil! I'd say wait for it to go GH if you want a quick, fun game.

Fable 2 is fun if you liked the first one.

I played both Good and Evil. For evil I bought a lot of shops to keep the money flowing. I made my guy a pirate gunslinger who killed as he pleased. Dressed him up as a pirate too. Lived in the biggest house in Albion.

For my good character I made him an honest pilgrim with a blunderbuss to take our raiders. Wasn't as rich, but whereever I went, I did good.

The main story is short if you don't take the side quests. I don't have the downloaded content but I would suggest downloading it if/when you buy the game to get more life out of it.

You can customize your character like crazy. Facial hair, eyes, gender, clothes (even the color of the clothes) can all be made to your liking.

Evil is WAAAAY more fun than good.

It's certainly worth playing at least. The "crumb trail" is unsettling and irritating at first but once you go through a few quests you realize how incredibly useful it is if you don't like going to a new area and feeling turned around trying to find a quest. You can always turn it off and explore on your own if you want too.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

You can actually get in now in episode form on XBox Live. The first part is free as are the two add-ons. Though I don't know how long the episode is, I just started it today.

You can turn down or even turn off the crumb trail thing so it isn't so bright. I did and while it was a little distracting, it's bearable.

I like how you can color your outfit to whatever you wanted. My evil character I made wearing the colors of Dr Doom. Awesome.

Watch out for the pies and meat. Eat too much and you'll get fat.

Would you mind using the spoiler tags before you keep on talking about the ending? Thanks.

Rent the game first. I liked Fable one, but was really disappointed at this one. In fact if they made Fable 3 I would have to be convinced into getting it as Fable 2 seemed more of a step back.

That's not really a "spoiler" as Theresa tells you what Lord Lucien is doing as soon as you get past the intro, so you kinda know who to expect to fight in the end.

The spoiler would be telling you how the actual fight goes.

Then I guess you need spoiler tags

Or if they're is even a fight. I haven't gotten to the end yet but it would be neat if they somehow managed to make a great ending that doesn't require a "look here, fight the Big Bad for the Mcguffin so the story can end".

I am hoping to play this one at some point.

It is what you make of it.

My evil gunsligner I would have running into towns shooting at random things, people, windows, children, whatever. Just watching civilians run around screaming was fun....until a huge mob of guards comes running at you with their swords drawn...

My good pilgrim I had would tend to run towards bandits mugging travellers. It's cool when you run up to them, trying to save fellow travellers and hear them say "Awww, looks like someone's come to dinner". That's when I whip out my blunderbuss and EXPLODE on them. It's pretty funny when they go from cocky to "I'm getting the 'ell out of here!"

I didn't find any blunderbusses that I liked using, although to be fair I didn't really look for them. Once I got the red dragon, all other guns became irrelevant. It's a blasted machine-pistol. I had so, so much delicious fun unloading a dozen shots into a bandit before he even realized he was dead. I had so much fun that I switched from a magic-swordsman to just gunning down everything with a red outline around it.

In terms of overall open-ended RPG experience, how does it compare with Oblivion + LOTS of mods?

I played a little bit of Fable TLC but it involved way too much console twitch-gamer button-mashing for my tastes.

It isn't that open ended really. The world is structured as Fable 1, for the most part. Still, it wasn't a problem for me. It's a more concentrated experience.

Hmmm, I never heard of the Red Dragon. The one I had was a custom made machine pistol. It earned me gold and restored part of my health I think.

The blunderbuss my good guy had was a legendary weapon. I forget the name, but that thing was like a nuclear bomb. One shot and the guys head and/or arms would blow apart. I especially liked using it and hearing terrified voices from the bandits.
