Hi all.

I'm starting up a 'Guard army and have been looking around for some basecoat sprays to significantly cut down the amount of basecoating I need to do. Came across http://www.thearmypainter.com/ who do a variety of colours. Now, I know they have some pictures on their website, but I was hoping some of you Dakka-ites have used it before (and taken some pictures).

I'm particularly interested in the Leather Brown, Army Green and Desert Yellow. Does anyone have any example pictures of Guardsmen, Space Marines or anything after an undercoat of this stuff? How well does it work with the GW washes? Should I be priming Black/White before using the spray or does it stick well anyway?

Thanks in advance

I´ve used them on my IG stuff, for my Leman russ and Sentinel models in particular.

The green on here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/258412.page

This was started with Army Green spray, and then built up with washes, and the grey was airbrushed on.

Same thing for my sentinels, which are in my gallery.

So I´d say, that yes they do work wonderfully. You should test on something non-important first, since they need the right distance or they´ll get grainy, but this is true of any spraypaint in my opinion...

Hope that helps

Basically what Xanthos said. They shoot little fibres if it is too cold, but otherwise they are awesome.

I have used the Bone one, as well as the red one, they both work really well.

Thanks. Xanthos that's some nice tanks you have there, is that straight Army Green spray before the washes or was it painted over? Jimi Nemesis, do you happen to have any pictures?

I use the bone spray for my chaos marines and red spray for my lizardmen. It works really good and saves a lot of time.

Straight army green before washes. I´ve been really happy with how it turned out, the tanks aren´t done yet of course, but it´s a nice start.

Hello,

what dip has you used for the skinks? I had bought the blue spray and it turned out much darker then on the images at there homepage. My goal is a good whine red for my blood angels. Do you think I can use the red primer with dark tone or would it be to light?
