I felt like sharing. I know the paintjob aint all that, but im happy with the conversion itself. Unfotunately i seem to have lost the WIP pics. C&C welcome

That's a pretty cool conversion. Out of curiosity, can the Autocannons pivot upwards at all? It'd be a nice touch if they can, seeing as the Hydra is primarily an anti-aircraft vehicle.

Simpe and effectibve, just like it should be with IG. Nice job. I second Neith's question: do the guns and/or the turret rotate?

Another question: what did you use for the radar dish thnigy (front of the turret)? I still need some inspiration for my manticore.

The turret can rotate, but the autocannons cannot pivot upwards, they're glued stuck, i didnt see any way to do that with the ammobelts moving along with the cannons.

Nice work! Always good to see more Hydras

I think the paint job is fine, if a bit flat. A bit of highlighting or washes would help add a lot of depth really quickly.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I agree, if you use a really light wash on the seems of that tank, itll really make the paint job pop out. Looks pretty damn good though. Nice job

Nice Hydra.
The turret is a bit boxy but the guns are fine. Correct size and length.

Maybe the small Landraider/razorback turret and its heavy bolter could be an inspiration how to do a movable ammo-belt fed gun?

I think a hole in the turrets roof and enlenghtening the ammo feeds could do the trick.

Hey mate, nice to see youve put up this conversion. It does indeed look great. You should make a P&M Blogs here for your Dark Eldar

That is a very nice conversion as you said the paint job isn't much but the conversion skills are brilliant

Nice. The gun kinda dwarfs the dude at the front though

thx for the comments. About the radar dish in the front, it is the top of a IG tank hatch, i would have liked it a bit bigger tho in retrospect.

I like it! I'm working on my own Hydra right now so you've given me some great ideas. I especially like how yours looks a bit more modern and hi-tech.

Personally I think it would be a good idea to magnetize your Autocannons so you can switch them out for Manticore missiles just in case you ever have the urge for S10 pie plates. I've seen interchangeable conversions like that before that have worked very well. The external ammo feeds would make it difficult, however, and I'd be hesitant to make any changes since I think they already make it look very cool. It's a tough call.

Either way, great model and thanks for sharing!

Thanks, might give it a go. I used a track wheel for mine, but it didn't come out as well as I would've hoped.
