Check this out - some Japanese guy scratchbuilt an Ork Mega Dredd!

http://puremon.blog91.fc2.com/blog-category-38.html

It's amazing work, even tho he borrows some Stompa bitz...

That's just unfair...
I can't afford one, and haven't got anywhere near enough skill to scratchbuild one

Yeah, but if you go through the posts, he shows you exactly how to do it, step-by-step...

His other work is equally amazing. From a rat-rod trukk to various degrees of killa-kan inspired stompas. He's got a scratchbuilt battlefortress that's nearly identical to the FW model.

The guy has some serious skill, that's for sure.

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Very nice work. Not for me though , I would have to spend £60 to get a stompa , for the arms and bits. Then more for a load of plasticard. Its cheaper to buy the real thing from FW. I know thats not the point in some respects . After all this is a forum about painting and modeling , and he will end up with an individual model. I just haven't got the time . All respect to him though.

@Luna:

I forgot he was the guy who also made the Mega Deff Dread.

Oops.

____

@vodski:

All you would need would be the weapon sprues - 2 sprues, like the Baneblade sponsons.

Most likely, he has a custom-armed Stompa as well.

Or a giant, plastic flowerpot...

I was wondering how long it would take a mek to scratch one. that is awesome! He's probably got the stompa arms from a bitz site. Off to get my plasticard out now.

Do you know where I can get those sprues from? I have a "flower pot" ready to kill ummies.

GW will sell you those sprues as part of a Stompa kit.

If enough people ask, GW may make them available, similar to the Baneblade sponsons.

Wow, I'm amazed.
I prefer some aspects of it to the Forgeworld model, actually.

It's both easier and harder than it looks.

In my case, I start with a drawing, and then just start cutting plasticard to match...

The challenge is dealing consistent scale and odd angles.

For that, you can do a prep model in paper / cardboard.

Face It. There are just some people in this world that belong somwhere nicer.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?
