I would suggest splitting up the Ironguts into 2 groups. Also, drop the tooth & luck gnoblar from your butcher. Neither one will do anything for you. The butcher has no armor/ward save. Also, the tooth cannot turn a 2 into a 3 so it doesn't do much for you. Most people will tell you that Hunters are not competitive and you need the Butchers. I say, go with what you like, you are starting Ogres because you like them not because you expect to win tournaments with them.

Well...

Let's see here, I'll make this lengthy for entertainment purposes.

Hunters can fulfill a very specific niche of the Ogre Army, and that is a support role. Whilst many see the hunter as a "Crappy Mobile Bolt-Thrower" I see him as a Light Cavalry/Skirmisher killer, who's job is to catch those little (Note, Little) Skirmishers such as Shades and Shadow Warriors, whilst shooting any form of Light Cavalry trying to whip around the Ogre's Flanks, such as Wolf Riders, or Dark Riders.

Tyrants are the beatstick of the list, with an awesome statline. He can be made a Troop Killer or a Character killer, or anything in-between. Always ensure that he survives though, as he's important when it comes to taking down the hardest things in your opponents army (Barring crazy things such as Great Unclean Ones)

Butchers are mainly supportive magic, increasing Strenght Values, Toughness Values, or giving a unit Regeneration and MR 2. Always take multiple Butchers, for the Dispel Dice and for Gut Magic.

Gnoblars, I find, are generally useless in an offensive Ogre list, as they struggle to reach the opponent's lines at M4 whilst the Ogres are M6. Trappers, on the other hand, are adorable little Elfs that are great for hunting skirmishers and protecting the all too important Ogre flanks from Fast Cav, or hell, even regular Cav.

Yhetees also fulfill the same roles as Hunters and Gnoblars, hunting Skirmishers and Light Cav.

Leadbelchers are a mixed bag, though they have a potential to wreck units with a potential of 10 shots per gun, they lose out in the fact that they determine shots randomly. I would use Leadbelchers to hunt Heavy Cavalry, such as Cold One Knights and Chaos Knights, as no one else in the Ogre List can really do so.

BTW, Heavy Cav will be the bane of your army, being the only units that can out-charge you, what with movement 7-8. Try to use Scrappers to bring 'em out to play, then counter-charge.

Scraplaunchers are also good against Cavalry lists, as they have KB and use LBT (Large Blast Template)

Ironguts form the core of any good Ogre List, and for obvious reasons. Great Weapons, and better Ld make them superb in every way to bulls (minus the amounts of attacks, of course). Never take command on any Ogre unit, as it will usually result in a standard Loss (If you really wish to, perhaps Guts can take a standard and a Musician, but full command is OUT of the question)

Bulls are the red-headed strep child of the list, as they don't outperform any other units in the army. They can be useful with Butchers, giving them +1 S and by giving them additional hand weapons, you'll have 4 S5 attacks, which is pretty decent as-is. Take bulls in units of 3 and use them to flank units.

Bruisers are only useful for one thing at 2,000 points, and that's to carry an army standard. It doesn't need to be a magic banner, but it can be one if you wish.

Don't bother running bruisers. Just go with butchers until you get to 2k and can run a tyrant. As it's been mentioned, adding a standard to an ogre unit = free vps for your opponent. Champions cost a ridiculous amount for just one more attack. The only command that any ogre unit should ever take is a bellower. Bulls are good for baiting and redirecting. Use them to set up counter charges with your good units (like ironguts). Run them in units of 3 with a bellower. Run your ironguts in units of 4 with a bellower (you want to maximize contact in CC). Don't take more than 4 ogres in any ogre unit because the extra rank is waaaay too expensive for what you get out of it. Run iron belchers in units of 2. Whether you run them in units of 2, 3 or 4 they have to take a panic test if they lose one model. At least if you run two units of 2 your opponent has to focus on two different targets.

I went with the Hunter, just cause I know you can bring an extra batch of Gnoblar Trappers (and I love those guys). I don't know how much they help on the table tho.

I voted for Hunter, because you seem to like him and it's the more interesting choice. That said, 2 butchers is better, and I don't add my hunter in until I get over 2k

Here's a tweak of that list you posted, with some of the extra points-filler stuff cleaned out:

H: Bruiser - siegebreaker, wyrdstone, brace of handguns, heavy armor = 196
H: Hunter - sword of might, 2 sabretusks = 205
H: Butcher - bangstick, dispel scroll = 180

C: 4 Ironguts - warbanner, standard, bellower = 247
C: 4 Ironguts - bellower = 202
C: 4 Bulls - bellower, additional hand weapons = 166
C: 9 Trappers = 54
C: 9 Trappers = 54

S: 3 Yhets = 195
-------
1499

Bruiser remains the same, but trimmed of gnoblars. Hunter got more fighty (talisman o' protection is how I run mine though, so maybe more protecty is the way to be), and butcher got the makings of possibly a magic phase, as he can spam 5 low power spells including the banger. Double scroll is an option too, he isn't going to be that effective by himself. Also cleaned up the command on the core, stripping it down to a single uber-banner but otherwise just bellowers for rallying / tie-breaking. The bulls got some weapons too, so as to toss 16 attaks, which is kinda nice Also more trappers ala Green's suggestion, and cause they are pretty excellent little blighters.

Intriguing at how the yhettes made it in. I guess their speed is helpful at low points costs but whenever I fight them they seem to get hurt and whimper away. But have seen them take out units through crossfire (thanks salvage . . .) take board edges and knock out arty. But almost 200pts means 2 cannons just to make back the investment and when other armies can pay less than a 1/3 (*cough* marauder horsemen *cough*) it's tough. . . can 2 leadbelchers do the same thing for less cost and slightly less effective?

IF you're questioning my list DG, I kept the monkies because the OP had 'em and I figure s/he likes 'em for some crazy reason

Personally I'd take 2 belchers w/ bellower any day of the week. Or even 3 belchers w/ bellower - still cheaper, and at least can try to blow something away before scampering off ...

Still not keen on Brace of Handguns, you'll probably get a shot or two the whole game.

For Ironguts to take the Ragbanner, you need to take a standard beareer (I.E. pay the points for the Standard Bearer, then pay the points for the ragbanner)

Other than that, looks pretty solid.

And another illegality, both brahmir statue and fistful are enchanted items (drop brahmir )

I'd suggest going with 2hw on your bulls, not light armor. 4 points more per unit and you get to kill more things, vs a 6+ save that will most likely be taken away. If you drop the statue, you can swap in 2hw on all the bulls AND get the irongut standard
