yup, void dragon and the outsider are the missing two, the ones currently active in the galaxy are the nightbringer and the deceiver.

The Outsider, locked in a Dyson Sphere causing Nids to go around it. Possibly hinted at in Dark Heresy as the Tyrant Star but that is a rather shaky link.

The Dragon was and is the most powerful of the C'tan whose army of ubercrons nearly wiped out the Eldar; at the time they were quite primitive, more in keeping with Fantasy Elves than the Eldar of the 41st Millenium.

The Outsider is insane due to consuming other C'tan, which he was tricked into doing.

There isn't a lot else to say about them.

Wow, I'm a DH GM, play every week, and although I've used the Tyrant Star in several of my adventures I never even thought of the possible connection to The Outsider. That's a really interesting theory. I'd be interested in hearing what evidence there is for it, no matter how shakey or circumstantial it seems.

I remember hearing a theory once that The Outsider was really the Tyranid Hive-mind. Or rather, the Hive-mind was really The Outsider. Outside the galaxy and all, sending the Tyranids in on his behalf.

OMG that ties in with the tyranids avoiding the necrons!

The outsider is in a Dyson sphere below the galactic disk. The Tyranids are avoiding it probably because it messes with their hive mind communications through the warp, like a Necron pylon.

If I remeber right the Eldar was also created to fight the Necrons, but it might have been the Necrontyr instead as the Necrons seem to be resistant to the warp.

cant you make up your own c'tan for an apoc battle though? it was my dream goal..... :(

incidently when you say dyson sphere ic ant help it, but i keep seeing a necron c'tan stuck in the new dyson ball vaccuum cleaner

*picture the scene, the necron god, the outsider, incredibly powerful and deadly, has finally ascended, entering the battlefeild. all fall before his planet destroying might, nothing can stop hi- *SCHROOOOOMM*.......ahh. well. hmm i dunno what to say really but it seems that the gaming board was just cleaned by my GF......with a vacuum cleaner.....

hmm...anyone seen where my outsiders gone?

meanwhile

the outsider awakens. "ohh my intergalactical head, where the hell am i?" he looks around and then it dawns on him. he is imprisoned within the new dyson ball vacuum cleaner for all eternity.*

yes, i am insane. yes, i do take thing too far. and yes, that really is the kind of thing that forms in my mind given a bit of thought.

but, i always imagined there would be more c'tan than just 4/5....

There originally were more than 4, but the Deceiver convinced them to consume each other to gain power during the war with the Old Ones iirc.

I think this is the thread that covers it: http://darkreign40k.com/forum/index.php?topic=1243.0

Officially there are only four C'tan left but really I suppose the more accurate thing to say is that of the C'tan that were drawn into a Necrodermis there are only four known to still exist. Maybe some old Stars in the galactic core still harbour such entities or maybe there are others more cunning than a fox wearing a weasel skin smoking jacket living secretly in the shadows, plotting the downfall of their brethren and domination of the galaxy...

CREEEEEEEED!!!!
Sorry, had to.
As to be serious, I do wonder what the fourths specialty is. Dragon is the most powerful, Nightbringer is death from what i guess, and the Deceiver is more tricky than the Eldar in my opinion.

Maybe eating, if he consumed the others? As he is trapped in a dyson sphere and generally ineffective, he seems pretty irrelevant.

It would be pretty cool if they made it so you could use the outsider for apocalypse.
