By that I mean, why can't I order a lot of the unit boxes. It seems like they have all the attachment boxes, but very few of the units. And the only UNA star troopers are winter camo. Where are the regular ones?

Rackham moves at its own pace, so much needs fixing but they have a fixation on getting the next big release out.
soon they will realise that the kwik sales dont make up for the poor retention.
The thing that they are really short of are Steel Trooper attachments.
As fro the whole winter camo, it was a brainfart as it increaed the logistical burden while shortening the range.

They are switching over to the army boxes and new standard boxes, because of this there is a time of transfer where some of the products will be harder to get.

Sorry if this is necro, but it still seems relevant- the site for AT-43 is god awful. I was trying to find Oni on it, but as far as I can tell they're not mentioned at all. What's with that? I want to do some research but this poor web presence isn't doing them any favours!

Honestly, don't bother with official RE web presence for anything save the forums, and acknowledge that the forums are a fanboy den (which has its purposes but is not a great source for critical review of the game). Get the bad points as well as the good points so you can make the most informed decision you can before you purchase.
Oni is a mega-corporation that was spawned from the humans of planet Ava. They have subsidiary corporations that sell just about everything. Interesting mini note: I never noticed before that the Med-Tech hospital terrain piece has an Oni corporate symbol on it.
In addition, Oni does massive amount of weapons research, and makes use of a viral solution that can be used to create "zombies." They're not flesh-eaters, however, and many of them retain intelligence, skills, personality, so the word is somewhat of a misnomer, but they look like zombies, anyway. Zombies with guns. They also have regular, human troops.
Oni can be played as their own army, or hired out as mercenaries to the other armies. Odd-numbered platoons are your choice of army and faction, even-numbered platoons have to be taken as Army Book-pattern Oni platoons.
I have fielded UNA/Oni armies which are deadly at 3K points.

Thanks very much! I didn't know that about allying them. What I'm looking for is price information. I've a limited budget, and at the moment I'm considering whether I want to spend it on more Hordes stuff, a decent boardgame like Descent, or some starter stuff for AT 43 that I can play with my gaming buddies on our relaxed sunday gaming days. I like the idea of the game as an easy access, low stress fun thing, but I want to know prices and so on before I get involved. People like yourself have been really helpful (dakka is how I discovered the game), but looking at the forum it does look prone to a lot of noise without much useful content.
If Rackham want to be taken seriously as a company, they would want to get their finger out and get the advertising up to scratch. I've seen operations run out of someone's shed with better websites than this!

AT-43 Flash Wars looks like a bit of fun. I know it supposed to be for people who don't play the game to get them interested but it should keep me entertained during lunch.
The events reporting aspect is what interests me the most as I run a fair few for both systems.

If Oni is what you want to play, you can get an Oni Army Box for $60 when you include the shipping. Check out miniaturemarket.com and thewarstore.com. Flat, low shipping rates. The Army Book for Oni is like $13 I think.
AT-43 Army Boxes include a 2000 point army. That is roughly akin to a 1500 point 40K army, though 3000 points is more normal for AT-43 now as armies like the Karmans apparently don't do well at 2000. I don't know, I don't play them, I've just heard that many times and my friend who frequently plays Karmans seems to confirm.
The Army Boxes let you build armies quickly, albiet with a limited unit selection - but Oni just came out, so all there is the Army Box, two Hero Boxes, one vehicle Unit Box and one infantry Unit Box. I think you could do a decent army on the cheap. Start with the Army Box and the Army Book and then decide if you want to purchase any of the other stuff. Take it slow, Oni should be readily in stock for a while.

*shrug* That's just Rackham. They either don't have an advertising department or don't have the budget for advertising right now.
I've said throughout 2009 that they should be doing comic books at least. Multimedia is the key to success, I believe, but that costs money.

Do you reckon I should order from the states? I couldn't find any boxes for sale in Dublin, and I've heard the euro prices are really high.

Yes. I only order from Miniatures Market:
http://www.miniaturemarket.com/at_43
I use the site so much I have it hotlinked into my computer and is one of my nine preference pages on my Opera homepage. Minitaure Market is cheap will depackage on request for a small charge (this really saves on postage), free postage to the USA too, though that is of little help to you.
To give you an idea, my spending on GW last year was rock bottom, I bought a Space Hulk, two pots of paint and a brush pot. Space hulk because it was the only time, and the paint pots because they were discontinued colours ( inc Terracotta - which I use for Red Blok). the brush pot with plastic holder lid was a new item and useful. So you can see I spent very little. Meanwhile I bought four 8000 - 10000AP armies from Miniatures Market for AT-43. Some 300 plus infantry models and about thirty vehicles, mostly of excellent pre-paint quality.
It helps that it would have cost me at least as much to buy one new Warhammer army of decent size as it did to buy four prepaint hordes plus the 'parking lot' of walkers.
The only downside Da Boss is that you have now missed the best deals, some units you cannot get, others you can no longer get for $10. Karmans are still rock bottom price, and Miniatures Market have even discounted them since just before Christmas. Still with some wise choices you can get a couple of large AT-43 armies for a very reasonable price and the new Army Boxes really help.

Thank you!
Looking at it, and converting prices as I go, it looks like I could get a good sized UNA or Red Blok army + the Oni box for the money I was thinking about dropping into something new. I'll have to consider it a while more though.
I figure it's best to get Oni and another faction, as I can use them as an adversary in intro games and then possibly combine them if I find some other people who are playing.
I like some of that scenery too.
What worries me about it is that stuff seems to be quite low in stock, and not every faction has an army box. That puts a damper on my enthusiasm, as it does not look like they're running the business end of things particularly well.

Army boxes are new, so its a case of not every army having one yet. Next up is the Karman army box. Search for threads on this.
