H'ok guys, experiment time.

I've seen several polls on several forums based around ye olde console war, with everyone frothing at the mouth as to why everyone elses consoles suck. Now I'm an easy going guy, and I've no room in me for all this needless hate (that's why I play Orks, they don't hate anyone, the just love crumping stuff)

So here's the favourite console poll with a twist. You pick your console (or PC) from the poll, explaine your choice but you're only allowed to be positive about your console and not slag or make derogatory comparitive statements about the others.

So you can say

"I love xbox cause all my friends are on XBL" or "I love the PS3 for the free online content and PS Store"

But you cannot say

"I love my xbox cause the online part is sooooo much better then the PS3" or "The Wii is for babies!!!"

So c'mon guys, lets put a positive spin on the console war ^^ lol

I voted Xbox, because most of the games I want to play are on it.

I voted PS3 cause I've always been a Playstation kinda guy. I lovve the online stuff, plus Killzone 2 and MGS4 were just revelations for me

Also, the playstation controller is a literal weapon in my hands :p it's just so perfectly formed

It was a big toss up between the humble PC and my pride and joy 60GB PS3, but my heart went with the PS3.

Just overall favourite, the games, the graphics, the community, the online stuff and the best customer service I have even seen from a gaming company.

Xbox 360. Most of my favourite games are on it, and a lot of my friends play on Xbox Live. It also cost me a lot less than a new computer or PS3 would, and it has the exclusives that I love; primarily Halo and Gears of War.

PC. Everything your console can do and more... except for the Wii, which isn't really my thing.

#2 would be the DS, for portability.

PC first and foremost. 360 comes in second seeing as it has some very redeeming qualities.

No negativity in my post, at least... I wasn't saying anything bad about the Wii, I was just ensuring that my statement was correct. My given reason for preferring the PC was a statement - there is no comparison.

The phrase "anything your console can do or more" is a negative comparison :p

PC. Lots of RTS' and Rpg's, my two favourite genres.

I voted 360.


1) It allows me to game in a relaxed position on my couch with my feet up and on my 60" plasma.

2) The games generally feel more 'Western' style to me (rather than Japanese), which I tend to prefer. I can go more into the differences between 'Western' and 'Japanese' games, but it doesn't seem appropriate for this thread.

3) It has Halo, and I love the Halo universe and all the games.

4) I think Xbox Live if fantastic and the way your Friends list and marketplace stuff is handled is really cool to me.

5) I love the Netflix streaming feature.

6) I like the controllers a lot. They're just my favorite controller style that I've ever used.

7) Microsoft seems to be willing to throw big money around to secure cool exclusives, which is nice if you like the 360.

The saddest thing about our time is that the way of exclusives are now drying up, on both ends. Developers can no longer afford to go one way or the other. Even though there is a lack of capable people to fully use the PS3's CPU, they are going to have to start training them, as the market is moving away from exclusives. Its a sad time.

Really? I see exclusives as kind of dumb. I was only saying that its nice to be on the good end of the company that's willing to pour out all the money to get exclusives, but in general I would love to see them go the way of the dodo.

I love the 360. It has a lot of games that I enjoy playing, as well as a pretty decent friends system which is fairly powerful in letting you see what people are doing and in letting you join them etc.

I also really enjoy the gamer points system and the acheivements. It would take a lot to tear me away from the 360 now as I have invested a lot of time and effort to get my gamer score, and even though it does not really mean anything, it would still be a real kick in the nuts to have to give it up.

i went PS3, mostly because my favorite all time game series were exclusive to the system, as well as reliability as i have yet to have any issues with it. I love the ergonomics of the controller as it seems to fit my hands better, graphically i have never been let down and each progressive game impresses me more and more.


frankly, i cant wait for Killzone 3 to be developed and put on the shelves!

I went 360.

I've been an Xbox man most of my gaming life, I'm no fanboy, I just enjoy the experience more. I feel more comfortable and 'at ease' because the whole system is so much more familiar.

It's not that I haven't tried the PS3, I did a console swap with a close friend, and I did really like it. However, I was only playing MGS4, offline, not using any of the menus apart from the 'Play' mechanic. I've played the online, and found it clumsy and decrepit compared to Live, but I'm sure that's a matter of opinion.

Halo:CE being my first and beloved console game, I would have to go for the Halo Series as being one of the defining reasons why I play Xbox. It's a brilliant work, if you look past what some parts of it have become.

I got to give my vote to XBOX 360. Many of the reasons have been previously explained and i agree with all of them..

but my favorite two reasons have to be Xbox Live Arcade.. with games like Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Carcassonne, Samurai Showdown 2 and many more...
second and by far my favorite feature.. Netflix Streaming. This is like a god send to my console. I have sold all of my Dvd's and just rely on turning on my xbox any time i want to watch a flick.

360 for life

Why? ok, the PS3 does have some amazing graphix, but i just prefer the games available to the 360.
Not only that, but i sold my ps2 to buy an xbox years ago, since then ive been an xbox player and moved on to the 360 when it came out

360 its cool I also love the controller. I have a good pc aswell, but I dont really like Pc games as much.

PC because you can get nude mods for Oblivion and Fallout III.

No love for the wii eh? Well I love my Wii because its like a little break from super overkill games and it has super smash bros. Many think its for kids and well it sort of is, but if you were a hardcore gamer there are some hardcore games such as Madworld, all the Metriod primes (which are hard as hell to beat), as mentioned super smash, super mario galaxy, and many others. It also has a game that tells you that you're FAT, isn't that awesome or what.

i own a PC, a wii a 360 and a ps3 (don't laugh at me -__-).
In order of time I spend on it:

4. Wii

3. xbox 360

2. Pc

1. ps3

I don't have any complaints about any of the consoles, I think they are all good in one way or another (cept when my pc freezes) but I just find myself playing my ps3 the most.

PC, simply because it's the most versatile and most powerful platform. Not to mention that it has plenty of use outside of games.

Its going to have to go to my PS3.

1) I love Pro Evolution Soccer and it just seems alot smoother and better on the PS3

2) I Love Metal Gear Solid.

3) I am a massive FF fan and whilst Nintendo is the spiritual home of FF the Playstation is its current home, no matter what Microsoft has to say about it.

4) The controller fits snugly in my hand and comes with rechargeable batteries in the controller which is a bonus.

5) Meh im just a playstation kinda guy.

Wii, 'cause it appeals to lapsed gamers from the NES days, with more arcade style gameplay.

In order:

PC - Definitely not the top of the line but its hard to beat free online play and the amount of customization and content offered.

360 - Its the console where the rest of my friends play on, that alone seals the deal over the PS3 for me.

Wii - Haven't hooked it up in nearly a year.

PS3 - Wasn't interested until the price drops but its much too late now as I've already bought the other platforms. However having a Blu Ray player is still something my HD TV is lacking.
