That really is cool! I haven't started playing Warmachine just yet, but unless that ends up being prohibitively expensive I will definitely pick one up!

@ Studder: Yea, Tau Dude is talking me into it. I downloaded the free rules, so when I get bored of futzing with =][=munda models, I am going to see about getting a force or two. Probably Cryx, though if Warmachine is really compatible with Hordes I might get the army with the chicks riding wolves since I wanted them so badly for my warriors of chaos force I also haven't finished.
You know, get all my unfinished armies using the same half painted models. More efficient to fail that way

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. Totally agree, now, whoever turned the lights on at PP, needs to pop along to GW HQ and flick the switch there

And then they can start making multi-piece plastic character kits? Yeah, they should.

At PP? I can't imagine multi-piece plastic character kits working for their system.

I meant at GW. PP's about a decade behind GW with materials. That's fine. It seems right about where they should be.

Soon we'll see metal plastic hybrids and then - in about 5-6 years - they'll have their "3rd Edition 40K Moment" where they will make a beautiful all plastic infantry kit. And then it's all about refinement.

GW, on the other hand, is in a place where they have almost no excuse not to make fully-customizable multi-part plastc kits for every unit entry. And said kits should include every wargear option available.

The only reason they don't do this is to milk more money out of us, lol.

Ironically, I'd be inclined to start more armies if they went the route I suggest.

Hordes and Warmachine are the same system with different mechanics for Warcasters/Warjacks and Warlocks/Warbeasts.

More Forces of Cygnar info:

Robertshepherd (PP Forums) wrote:So, I got a look at NQ #27 this evening. There's a page of concept artwork from the Forces of Warmachine: Cygnar book. Concept art includes:

New trencher unit - trencher grenadiers?
Armed with what look like big heavy slug guns (or scatterguns) and trench knives, their insignia is a pair of crossed rifles over a grenade with a lit fuse. I would venture they're a close-assault unit. Wild speculation: trenchers with scatterguns and improved melee ability, who Finn will make disgusting.

New stormblade/guard model - weapon attachment?
A stormblade (or stormguard) model with a heavy voltaic generator on his backpack (looks very similar to eNemo's backpack) hooked up to a heavy voltaic weapon. The weapon had an underslung blade, but the way he was holding it made it very definitely look like a ranged weapon; he was posed identically to a model holding a minigun or flamethrower. Wild speculation: if he's not a solo, I'd guess a stormblade WA. Perhaps a spray attack to go with the Stormblade's assault order?

New Stormsmith - character stormsmith solo?
A new stormsmith, who looked frankly insane (in the 'mad scientist' kind of way), holding a storm rod with multiple voltaic coils protruding from the head, hooked up to a heavy, stationary voltaic generator. Looked like a stormsmith character solo. Wild speculation: a fourth solo with some nifty special abilities, who can also storm call, allowing you to pull it off triangulation more easily (in the same way a koldun lord allows Khador players a better chance of getting three frost cages).

According to the PP forums Captain Kara Sloan is the new Cygnaran warcaster.

Spiggot, it's also on the website that her name is Kara Sloan:

Armed with the most advanced mechanika in the Iron Kingdoms, the stalwart and courageous soldiers of Cygnar stand resolute against those who seek to destroy their beloved homeland.

Take up the fight for the Cygnus with Forces of WARMACHINE: Cygnar, featuring:

An excellent sculpt to replace one of the weakest warcaster figs. Good to see that the forces book has more content than I anticipated.

Simply awesome. Nemo was my first draw into WM, and this sculpt may be enough alone to get Cygnar back into the rotation.

Yeah, one 'jack. You could always go the way of the magnet and have all three or four models
from one kit.

No, you'd still have one model. You'd just have three or four options for that model.

Even so. But unlike the old metals, each kit seems (I haven't seen them, so it's hard to
say for sure) to allow you to swap parts around for a different model. Given that you're
still probably only going to field 2 heavies, you're either going the expensive route and
buying a kit for each build (status quo) or you're buying one kit to take the place of three
different models on your shelf. Three options, one kit.

I'm too lazy to magnetize though. I might just get kits to build the new plastic 'jack.

WM was a great game, totally pulled me away from 40k when it first came out. It is an awesome game system and the fact that you can play a good game in 30-45mins is great. The problem is they have worse "creep" than GW IMHO. If you have an army that you bought and painted when it first came out, just about every unit has been replaced by a better unit that can do more or is generally more powerful. Once I was plainly outclassed just because I wouldn't buy the newer minis I decided to sell my army.
