Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

Go mechanized with plague marines. Berzerkers are good for CC. If you take vindicators take them in pairs same with defilers. For HQ choice cant go wrong with DPs. Hope this helps.

Oh BTW if you take berzerkers put them in your LR so they can assault on the same turn they disembark out of the LR.

@Euannr:

I highly suggest 2 squads of 10 Chaos Space Marines with rhinos.

Great way to start and get used to Chaos.
Then, when/if you branch out to cults. you can easily convert them over.

@Tyrandi Horde:

CSM don't have a Lord of Change, it's only a count as GD or DP.

@Vindicator#9:

Though I do like plagues and zerkers, I don't think they are a great start to CSM, everyone likes different things, and CSM are as vanilla as they come.

In general, the LR is pretty: Meh. It's not super, I wouldn't call it crap, but it's average.

Would you like to give us a ballpark range of points? Maybe browse through the CSM codex and come up with a list as well?

As for powerful models:
Dps are good, vindi/defiler/oblits are all good.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I've been relatively unimpressed by LR's compared to other things I could spend 200 odd points on. I've even had them completely ignored in favour of easier, more killy targets.

I would certainly bulk up on CSM, and most definately create at least one Chosen marine squad for tank/MC hunting. I too advise on getting some Rhinos to drive them slightly more safely across the table as well as block line of sight.

I just started Chaos myself recently, and I'm new to the game. But I know for troop choices out of the four, all of them have their ups and downs. Thousand sons are great versus anything with 3+ Armour save, along with them being slow and purposeful they can create a slow moving line that always ready to shoot. Noise marines are a very mobile force that can lay down a lot of fire, and if ever in combat usually strikes first. Nurgle's plague marines are tough as nails and great for soaking up fire, and holding objectives. And if you want to great melee units go with Berzerkers. I hope this helps somewhat, but I love all four troop choices and they are all good at one thing or another.

This is good.... isn't it?
