Subject: 1750 Speed Freaks.... seeking advice.

Ok, so with just getting back into 40K, I have chosen Orks as the army I am playing. Speed Freaks specifically. I have not yet purchased any models, but, have the codex and am working over lists in my head. In my gaming area, the main armies that I would be playing against would be Marines and Guard. Everyone tends to play 1750 point games on a regular basis, and that is generally what our tournaments run at points wise.
Now, what I plan on purchasing is 2 of the Ork Mega forces when they are released, and the FW Warboss on warbike, as well as 6 FW Nob Bikers. In each Mega force there is: 40 Boyz, 9 Warbikers, 1 Trukk, 5 Burnas/Lootas....so the totals would be 80 Boyz,2 Trukks,18 Warbikers, and 10 Lootas/Burnas. I'm not terribly worried about using all the contents of both mega forces in this one list, as the rest can be used to help flesh out a Foot Sloggers list later on.
My initial thoughts are converting the FW Boss on bike to Wazdakka. Should be easy enough to do(I've been a wargamer/modeller for the last 12 years or so).
My thoughts are:
HQ:
180 Wazdakka Gutzmek
85 Big Mek w/KFF
Troops:
265 9 Warbikers w/Nob,Power Klaw, and Bosspole.
265 9 Warbikers w/Nob,Power Klaw, and Bosspole.
152 12 Boyz w/Nob,Power Klaw and Bosspole in a Trukk w/Red Paint Job
152 12 Boyz w/Nob,Power Klaw and Bosspole in a Trukk w/Red Paint Job
154 19 Boyz w/Nob,Power Klaw and Bosspole
Elite:
??? 6 Nob Bikers w/Painboy(this is the problematic unit for me, as I'm having trouble deciding on how to equip the unit)
(so far with 5 Nobz and the Painboy it comes to 300 points, which leaves me 82 points to gear up the unit. I could come up with some extra points by trimming down the mobs of boyz a bit I suppose? Or as another thought I could maybe drop a bike from one or both of the Warbiker units to gain the extra points I might need to make the Nob bikers as effective as I'm looking for).
Heavy Support:
115 Battlewagon w/Red Paint Job and Deff Rolla
So, with the points values as is, I'd have 382 points to spend on the Nob Bikers to hit 1750.
Thoughts on game play are:
Wazdakka/w Nob Bikers and the two units of Warbikes hit one enemy flank, while the Mek+19 Boyz riding in the Wagon and the 2 Trukk Mobs hit the other flank- concerning just straight up games with no objectives, etc.
From my understanding of the rules only troop choices? can capture/hold objectives..?(I haven't played 40K in 4-5 years, so I'm not 100% sure on that). Which, if that's the case, then I'd have 5 units capable of fulfilling that role.
Anyways, I would like some advice on the best way to equip the Nob Bikers, and some thoughts on the list in general.
Thanks.

The list looks good to me. I'm not really a master ork tactician but this looks solid and pretty formidable.
Also when people gear thier nob bikes they like to gear them all differntly so they can spread out the wounds and with a pain boy thier near impossible to kill.

They will be of tissue paper and whimpy muscle. In tissue paper armor I clad them and with the mightiest flashlights they will be armed. They will be touched by every sort of plauge or disease to help further make them unhappy, all sickness will blight them. They will have almost no tactics, strategies, but lots of machines so that they can atleast stand up to a foe in battle. They are my tar pit against the Terror. They are the bulk of Humanity. They are my Imperial Guard and they will know much fear!"

That's what I've heard about the Nob Bikers. I'm not really attempting a "super list" , just something that's going to be a fun list to play, that stands a decent chance of being somewhat competitive for tournaments. I'm not overly concerned about win/loss ratio, but like most everyone else I do have a semi competitive nature when it comes to tournaments. I play more for fun than anything else.

I was just suggesting something I heard alot a while back, but if your not trying to be cheesetastic why not just kit them all or half of them with Pks and give them a pain boy

They will have the Painboy, and a PK or two for sure. As far as "cheestastic" goes, hmmm...I do want good survivability out of a unit that is going to cost me almost 400 points(not to mention about $230 for the FW Biker Nobs and Boss on Bike). I just think that if I'm going to spend that many points as well as $$ on the unit I'd like it to remain on the table for awhile, and not pick them up a few minutes after deployment is all. That way, they either earn me my points back, and/or are just a pain in the for my opponent to deal with unless they commit a lot of their force to dealing with it effectively.
Thank you for your comments so far Guttrench. I look forward to more from you and anyone else that would like to offer their advice, especially an experienced Ork player.

Honestly, if you have a pain boy in your nob biker squad just add, well, more bikers. I would throw a pk in there, but just 1. With wazzdekka that's a lot of unsavable attacks. You just need more wounds to get across the field get it up to about 8 str and your good. OH and don't forget about your waaagh banner

I've been playing Kult of Speed for a long time. Using Wazdakka means that you lose out on strength 10 pk attacks from a warboss on bike. I think if you use Wazdakka as your HQ, you should max out and get all bikers. I know this is pretty expensive, but its a pretty cool army.
5 troops of bikers (don't make the sizes too big) - 5 bikers is fine with the Nobz with PK and Boss Pole
3 elite Nobz bikers (3 pks, but differentiated with BP and other stuff for wound allocation) - these will go after armor (12 strength 9 attacks for each group)
1 big Nobz biker squad (troop) led by a warboss
You have a lot of dakka with the bikes to take out infantry/hordes. Everything can turboboost against gun lines to get in their faces by turn 2. Lots of PK attacks for armor.
Just a thought.

Greetings.
Speed Freaks is generally....vehicle related. I play Speed Freaks, and I love them. Biker boys don't stack up for utility in terms of points....I would suggest you hold off using them for another codex.
There are some good speed freak lists posted here getting comments:
