The idea of this build is to do it as low cost as i can. I will list the price of everything plus pics below. If any of you guys are interested in the size of everything just let me know and i will post dimensions. Def not sonr yet have to let the flocking dry the get rid of excess. Will continue to post pics as i make progress. Comments and suggestions welcome.

PRICES

Looks like a great start. I like your ground cover painting. This will look really nice when you have terrain on it. How much does this thing weigh? It's a fair amount of wood. With the concrete floor, though, it looks like it can still be moved around easy enough.

On another note, kudos for using the word 'today' three times in three sentences. No easy feat.

Haha thanks man for the kind reply.Believe it or not it only took me about 45 min to get the table together, it makes it much easier when everything is precut. Im happy with the way the flocking and such turned out. Thanks again.

Nice table you have here. What is it, a 6x4? I am impressed with the tabletop paint job. A useful scheme for just about any game.

$33 price tag - VERY nice.

You need to add one more pic, though - a pic that shows a furious battle being fought upon it!

nice solid table bud, one suggestion sand off the blue edging on the particle board, or it will end up on your nice white shirt the first time you lean over your table to move your unit on the other side

Good work, an inspiration to avoid forking out £150 for six squares of plastic. Now if you could only manage to put some skull pits in there... (I jest, don't do it!)

What's the flag in the background of first pic by the way?

The flag on the wall is from Bermuda me and my wife went there on our honeymoon, about 4 months ago. What an awesome place to visit.

Good looks on telling me about the blue stuff wipe off. Just bought a hot wire foam cutter today so i can get going on the terrain. As for the battle pics they will def come once table is complete. Thanks again for all the nice comments.

Looks beautiful, but if I might make one suggestion:

Go with plywood instead of chipboard. I use chipboard myself, but any new tables I make will be plywood only. The reason being that chipboard has a nasty tendancy to... well... chip. It's not a pretty site when the glue gets old and chunks of surface wood snap off. High-Density Plywood is definately worth the extra $20 or so for the same size piece.

yeah,
Nice Table and Cheap too! I'm also impressed by the speed you built it.
I'm also very jealous of your ManDen! looks cool with the WorkTable Area, Xbox, FishTank and R.C.Planes.

While your still working on finishing your board, concider adding trim around the board, have a look at my ->setup it gives you more options in the long run.

I look forward to seeing it finnished with terrain.

Panic..

Very well done! Once I have the space I'll be doing the same thing. The only thing I can add is that I really like tables with a lip. Just about 2" raised lip around the edges goes a long way in keeping dice on the table, 4" makes it seem like you're playing in a sandbox. You could get some 2x4s and frame them on pretty easily, but it might double the cost of your project.

When I do mine, I also want to build in shelving for terrain on the underside (like you seem to indicate with the board down there) to keep everything organized. One other cool trick I've seen in gamestores is to get those door-hanging letter boxes and hang them from the player edges of the table, giving people a place to put drinks, dice, books, and all the other gaming paraphenalia that inevitably ends up somewhere "out-of-play" on the table and totally ruins good battle pics.

Looks great !! And the low cost makes it fantastic !!

Also, I strongly suggest a run to Autozone to get some appropriate cup holders ... hang them off the edge of the table legs so you don't have to go Warhammer on clumsy spillers when they dump their big gulps on your board !!!

Wow thanks everyone for showing so much interest in my build. You are all helping me push along on the project. I def like the idea of putting a boarder around the edge didnt think of that and it would give it a cleaner look. Also im happy to hear people like the MAN CAVE when i get the chance to clean up i will show the other half wich is better cuz of the 7.1 surround sound and the 50 inch. Anyway here are a few updated pics. I wasnt able to get much done been really busy with work. The 2 peaces i have built were just painted so they will look much better when flocked and more detail is added. Thanks again for the support guys.

I just got this stuff today never tried a mold before but i think with these i could make some cool looking things.
