Hi all,

So, I'm new to all this blog stuff so dont expect anything too professional ...
Anyhow, a while ago I found some old Catachans that I got ages back and I have dedcided to start a Renegade guardsmen army. I dont like the style of the Forge World bodies so I wont be using those. However I have ordered a set of the Renegade Militia weapon arms and they are on the way!

I also want to try and stay away from the Chaos Space Marine side of things as i already have a load of Ultramrines.

As things stand I only have ten men built and I am waiting for the Forge World parts to arrive and also I intend to get a set of Cadians to throw into the mix. Hopefully this will give me a nice range of troops.

I dont have any other plans from there on but i am looking into some sort of tank ...

As I mentioned in my introduction my painting skills are not the best and painting is not my most favoured thing...

So just to show you all what some of the current guys look like I have a few pics to show!

And if any one knows where I can get a decent army list without spending a fortune on and Imperial Armour book then please let me know, it would be much appreciated!!!

So I am back!

I haven't done much paiting but i have got some pics of my second 5 man squad!
No building has been done due to a lack of Forge World parts that are still one the way

dude have you undercoated your models? also seeming your new to painting, try using foundation paints, *mutch easy to apply* and washes. looking forward to your next update

Got the FW parts!!! Managed to break a few but fixed them and now they look fine!
Not much in the way of painting. I haven't got any more building done as I am still waiting to order the Cadian Shock Trooper set.
Got one REALLY bad quality pic of the FW stuff though...




@physcosamatic -I haven't undercoated them I will look into the foundations and washes, I have heard of them but never actually been bothered to look into them/their uses...

Renegade catachens. Thats a first! Cool but do some more greenstuff

Hi guys,

Really quickly want to apologize for the lack of updates over the past few days; I have been ill so I haven't done anything really

However I did manage to get myself the Cadian Shock trooper set!!! This means that later this evening I can post some pics of the latest to have joined the foul renegades. I can only make about 30 but still

I will update later, but to keep you all here I managed to take one quick pic of some of the parts





@HalloweenBomber- Yeah I think it probably is a first, I picked them for the way they sort of looked quite rugged. I will try and do more greenstuff-ing. What do you recomend me doing? (note- My sculpting skills are pathetic-I have never sculpted ANYTHING! )

So, I apologize muchly for the lack of updates!


My plan now is to wait until christmas and see if i get any shiny new sets. Hopefully there will also be some foundation paints so...

Anyhow I will update after christmas even if there are no new renegades sitting under my christmas tree!

Just a quick update,
Got some FW parts; the Cadian Hardened Vets. and the Cadian Squad with respirators upgrade pack.
Should be posting some pics in the next few days.

The plan at the moment is to use the vet. parts to create a "bodyguard" like squad for the commander which currently is not very impressive. The bodyguards will possibly be lead by a sergeant in the classic tough guy style. Thats the idea anyhow!

Im still wondering about which army list I should use. If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know ASAP!

So I got some pics!



This is going to be the sergeant of my Veteran Squad. He is going to have the cadian sergeant head.




This is another headless renegade! He's going to have a head with a respirator on.




This is yet another charging renegade. Just a plain old Cadian.




This is my grenadier guy. Once again he is in need of a head...

Overall I need to do more!!!
I am still working on a paint scheme but the mix between cadian and catachan is proving to be quite a barrier...

Should have more pics within the next week or so.

They're looking good so far. The vets are great. as for getting around the cadian/catachan animosity... try switching the arms.
I've seen some good models with the catachan vest/bare chest torso and the cadian arms. Looks like an open leather jacket.
And the bare arms on the armoured torso looks so tough.
Stick a helmet on some of the catachans too. Why not?

I would scrape the imperial eagles off of the guns and helmets myself. looks good otherwise

For a really outlandish look try kroot rifles if you can seperate them from the hands they look feral and nasty.Or they may be already seperate so yea either ways all good.

Once again I would like to apologize for the lack of updates...

First off I managed to get my hands on the Cadian Command Squad and also the Heavy Weapons squad. There are no pics at this moment in time but there should be some in the next few days (probably tomorrow!)

I know that the heavy weapons squad is going to be made as an autocannon and I'm also thinking about doing something interesting with some of the spare bitz ...

I intend to mix up the parts to some extent to get a good look. I'm also thinking about a name for the regiment and maybe some fluff to go along with the name. So far all I know is that they are troops that got fed up with serving the Emperor so went rogue, but thats it at the moment. More on the way (if i can think of some!)

I'm thinking that the IG codex would suit my needs quite well but if anyone has any other ideas then please let me know!

@The Good Green- Thanks for the compliments. I will see what I can do with the mix of bodies. The only problem is that I used alot of the catachan parts on the other figures. Hopwever I will see what I can do!

@Eldarranger-I tried to scape alot of the Imperial Eagles off but the ones on the Cadian helmets proved too much trouble so I decided that the troops weren't bothered to move them before fighting!

@BOSS_PIMPALOTZ- Thanks for the advice. I might see if I can get my hands on some kroot gear. I was also thinking about some WHFB Empire stuff. The flagellants and the free company looked interesting, but I don't think I would use all the parts so if I could get some of the bitz seperatley then it would be much easier and probably better value for money.

Do they attack other IG units for supplies and upgrades? What aliens have they fought the most?

Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, prime your minis before you paint them! Temples... about... to... burst!

Otherwise, I like the idea of this. Just be sure, as others have said, to cut the Aquilias off. Maybe rough up their armour and faces with some scarring. And PM InfilTRAITOR in regards to how to make their gear look worn and well-used.

InfilTRAITOR is the man with the plan huh? I guess, with a name like that, it makes sense. I'll have to check his pics out too, then.

So once again an apology is due for the huge gap between uploads. The only main reason is some unforseen technical problems and me being a bit sick!

@The Good Green- Yes they will attack other IG units for kit. At the moment I dont know what aliens are the biggest enemies. Im also considering some fluff revolving around an uneasy allience with some orks but we shall see. If you have any thoughts on how this could work please let me know, all comments are welcome!

@metallifan- I apologise for the lack of priming. As I said at the start of the blog my painting skills are still somewhat in development...
But thanks for the compliments. I have seen InfilTRAITORS blog and I must say I love his work. I have also started to hack Imperial Eagles off of gear. The results should be noticable in the future! As for the battle damage-well lets just say I'm working on it...

This shows the rhino door better. It was cut at an angle so it sticks out and up. There will be another guy standing behind it but I'm still working on him.
