Well the Obama Administration, in its rush to tout the "success" of the ridiculous stimulus package it pushed through Congress this year recently posted on its website how jobs were created by the federal money. Like in Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. Problem is there is not 15th district in Arizona...oops. This is a major PR SNAFU, and I doubt things are going to go well with this incident.

But also here for your viewing enjoyment is the Onion's latest story...

The problem is they are posting information for districts that DON'T exist. I won't go so far as to say they were being intentionally dishonest, but it is a major SNAFU. And no the Onion isn't real...unless you want it to be...

Hang on, are you saying there's any chance at all that they're making up districts as part of some grand stimulus hoodwinking. Do you not think people would notice when districts were listed that didn't exist? That's kind of a goofy charge.
It does make the whole thing sound a little more substantial than 'Obama admin makes goofy error on district name', which is why it's being included.
And no the Onion isn't real...unless you want it to be...
The Onion is hilarious. For some reason, like South Park and all other hilarious things, it always feels like it used to be just a bit funnier, though its hard to pinpoint exactly when that funnier time was, and you're always laughing...
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Ok, now I am confused. Are you being sarcastic or serious? And if you are serious, what exactly are you saying? The district, and a few others listed, is actually non-existent. Now I am inclined to believe that it was a simple human error, but I am not ruling out the possibility that this was intentional.
And yes the Onion is absolutely amazing....I think they hit their stride in their "War for the White House" series...

It's just, if you're halfway competent enough to win an election and you want to tell a lie, you tell one that isn't going to be picked up by 90% of the political junkies on the net.

Yep. I blame Saddam Hussein.
Of course thats irrelevant. There's only one thing the US citizenry really cares about when there's no major war.

One district reported they saved over 300 jobs when all they did was give everyone a raise. When confronted by a reporter, they confessed and said they were told by government officials to report it that way.
Recovery Board Chairman: We Can’t Certify Jobs Data at Recovery.gov

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: The chairman of the Obama administration’s Recovery Board is telling lawmakers that he can’t certify jobs data posted at the Recovery.gov Web site -- and doesn’t have access to a “master list” of stimulus recipients that have neglected to report data.
Earl Devaney, the chairman of the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, responded to questions posed by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., late yesterday to say the board can’t vouch for the numbers submitted by recipients of stimulus funding.
“Your letter specifically asks if I am able to certify that the number of jobs reported as created/saved on Recovery.gov is accurate and auditable. No, I am not able to make this certification,” Devaney wrote, in a letter provided to ABC News.
Devaney rejected Issa’s suggestion that the site include a more prominent disclaimer, such as an asterisk or a footnote. He said the site already does mention in a note to users that “errors and omissions” are likely.
Devaney said that while he can’t yet provide a list of all entities that were required to submit information but failed to do so, “I expect to have access to this data shortly.” He also said the board will seek to correct data that proves to be faulty, and is promising “increasingly higher levels of accuracy in the future.”
The letter comes amid mounting criticism of stimulus figures that have been riddled with errors, undercutting the administration’s claims that stimulus dollars have helped “save or create” 1 million jobs.
ABC News has reported in recent days that Recovery.gov lists scores of jobs and millions of dollars in spending in congressional districts that do not exist.
Separately, the administration has slashed more than 60,000 jobs from its most recent report on the program, because the reporting outlets submitted “unrealistic data.”
Issa, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said in a statement: “This just confirms what we already know, that [the] Administration cannot certify info on recovery.gov as accurate and auditable. The man charged with providing accountability for stimulus spending cannot verify the accuracy of the job reports that the Administration – filtered through [the Office of Management and Budget] – have provided him.”
“It’s a startling admission that he hasn’t even been provided with a list of who should have reported, which means he can’t know who didn’t report, which just adds fuel to the argument that the whole effort at transparency has failed. The Administration has provided inaccurate data, missing data, data that might be missing but they don’t even know for sure.”
The oversight panel is convening a hearing Thursday on stimulus job figures, with Devaney due to testify.

No health care system? Oh I'm sorry I think my wifes surgery this week was done by someone at the hospital and our private medical insurance paid for it.

Why do you call it free? Its only free if you're a slackjawed loser and blight on society who doesn't pay taxes. You know common criminals, murderers, politicians, but I repeat myself.

And if the bill had gone through without childish and sickening bitching and uproar from the conservative-jackass right it would have lowered costs through forced competition in an insurance market thats never had it before. But then the right has destroyed American Democracy by destroying its middle and polarizing politics in a way never before seen, so it's really more of a symptom.

The Democrats control the House and Senate in a veto proof majority. They could have passed it the same day Obama was sworn in.
The fact they didn't, the fact that 1 RINO voted for it shows how partisan and OT the bill is. Of course none of them actually read it...
Regardless its still not free, and I never thought I'd see the day where the Chinese are concerned about proposed spending in a healthcare bill.

Actually that depended on Al Franken who wasn't there until months later, as well as a controversial party switch from another well known name. But then whose keeping track of history? Even then it's not fillibuster proof in actuality. The legislation had a lot going for it before deathpanelgate, but the conservative media (Read: honestly just fox news and conservative radio, most other networks have tried to be at least somewhat impartial in review of the legislation leaking out) terrified the ignorant and lazy american voterbase to the point where even a couple of democrats wouldn't vote for it without special consignments to "release the grip of socialized medicine" (Which it never fething was you coward pieces of gak in the government and media).
The fact they didn't, the fact that 1 RINO voted for it shows how partisan and OT the bill is. Of course none of them actually read it...
A bill is only as partisan as the parties make it. It was not socialized medicine. It was meant to enforce competition, a very capitalist value. Segments about abortion or marriage tax status could of been hashed over all day but they never were. From the very start it was "SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE THEY WANT TO KILL OUR ELDERLY". It wasn't a partisan bill, it was a weak willed coward conservative party dragging it into a shitstorm of false media coverage terrifying an uneducated and self entitled american populace.
Regardless its still not free, and I never thought I'd see the day where the Chinese are concerned about proposed spending in a healthcare bill.
I never thought I would see the day America fell. But this legislation is it. What we have is totally unsustainable and this has proven that any sort of actual fix can not be passed while the right has any sort of power. They continue to purge their moderates and give even more weight to the real faces of the party on television and radio. This legislation will fail, or it will pass as an incredibly compromised and ineffective bill that likely empowers the insurance agencies to rape us even more. Europes economy will continue to grow as china gradually begins to buy other currencies realizing its American trading partner is going to go bankrupt. Then due to soaring healthcare costs, ineffective controls of business, and an ever weakening American education market, America will fail. We've already experienced a lost decade between 01 and 10, with virtually no job creation, the stock market in effect back where it started, and rising population and health costs. Without broad ability to reform we're just going to keep stagnating.
If I sound mad I just missed one of my classes because of my alarm clock (stupid Ipod battery).

(Blue dogs didn't vote for it either. )
This legislation will fail, or it will pass as an incredibly compromised and ineffective bill
(Yes those evil compromises. How dare their be checks and balanced and input from all interests, like has been done the last 200 years. Those bastards )
(Republicans an $8Bn cut in Medicare-crime against humanity. Democrats propose $400Bn-no big deal)
We've already experienced a lost decade between 01 and 10, with virtually no job creation
(other than below 5.5% unemployment through most of that but don't let that get in the way of your rant)

, and rising population and health costs.

(don't worry after getting tax and shuffle, massive budget, and this $1.2Trillion + bill Obama has rediscovered budget deficits so that should be cured in just a few minutes after he gets back from his walk on water)

Good to know that you feel the majority of the country is composed of slack-jawed losers, and that receiving a tax refund is tacit to being a murderer.
Also, that isn't how the current legislation works. The people currently on medicaid will still be there, with an expansion expected to total around 30%. The rest are covered by the public option, which essentially subsidized health insurance that participants must pay for.

Yeah, all those filled seats, and uncontested senatorial elections. There was a window of about 4 months where they actually had a filibuster proof majority: between Franken's seating, and Kennedy's death.
