Okay, in my spare time yesterday, I started musing on the 40k background (Yes, I have no social life at all ). It occured to me that I've never read anything about CSM scouts-but surely at some time, somewhere, one or two space marine (lets say, Ultramarine, so new recruits) scouts must have fallen to chaos, and maybe even tried to join one of the original legions.
So what does Dakka think the legions would do with the scouts (Insert Emperors children sick joke here )? Would they just kill them off for being so inexpeienced, or would they implant the black carapace immeadiatly?

I'm not sure, I've never heard of a scout turning to chaos before...

Because Scout squads are supervised by veteran Brothers just for that reason.

Chaos tends to get its troops through the machinations of madmen like Fabius Bile, or the Dark Mechanicus, or flatout from the fact that the Dark Powers keep bringing their dead back.

Mabye them coming back to life should be represented in-game.

You mean like plague marines with 'we'll be back'?

If Plague marines be the scouts....woe to those when the day 'REAL' plague marines take the stage .

I think they would probably whack them staright into the Black Armour. Don't make no difference as long as they love Chaos. I'd love to see some Chaos Marine Scout Conversions though. Hmmmm........

i would love to see chaos get a scout type
rather than actual scouts i would see them as Neophytes -like BT but not mixed in squads
this way CSM have more variety but would not infringe on any possible cultist codex.
i had some stats listed somewhere...

Since we don't actually have legions any more and are just "warbands" and "renegades", you would have thought that some of the more recent chapters/units to turn to chaos would still have scouts... and Crusaders and Land speeders, and plasma cannon weilding devestators, etc

chaos scouts I figure they would be former humans who manage to surive the forces of chaos and then are made into aspriants of chaos space marines

They should be added to the next codex as cultists.

yeh cultists could be scouts like in dawn of war

I didnt feel like putting into the concept of chaos marines not having scouts becuase if looked at in all aspects they should and its just disapointing. storyline wise and gameplay wise but more gameplay wise.

In the world bearers novels of dark apostle and dark disciple humans are mostly used as slaves if not already "corrupted" or tools if they are cultists. Even the best of them
are disposed of in a heartbeat so a human cultist has to accomplish something extra ordinary to be considered to be tranformed into a chaos space marine.
