Anyway moria is a good idea but he had a board already. Also he said somthing big like a building to fight over. I dont think he would want pillers stiking up form the ground though.

I have a large piece of terrain.
It's a 6' tall, 9' wide, and 6' deep model of Minas Tirith. Won best LOTR and best overall at Games Day last year. Might be tough to go under the tree though.)

Do a Rohan village.
You can make it modular with a variety of buildings including a great hall, a wooden stockade, some stables and paddocks.

How about the hilltop shrine at the end of the Fellowship of the Ring Film? I can't remember the name of the location or find any pictures at the moment but it would seem like a good choice.
I seem to remember that GW did a build of this when LotR first came out. Its the scene where the Uruk-hai attack the Fellowship, Boromir protecting Frodo & Sam down hill with Aragorn/Gandalf atop the ruined shrine/temple kicking arse!
Edit - Found this image on Barule, it looks like the place in question.
This has been done using Hirst Arts blocks by the looks of it. Not that big but if you place it atop a hill and surround it with a forest crawling with Uruk-hai you might be on to a winner?
http://www.barrule.com/Workshop/Gallery/gallery%20-%20shrine%20of%20eagles.htm
Edit 2 - Found a better picture and I think the place was called Amon Hen by the looks of it!
