Hi.

So, I need some Green Stuff, but the GW product just seems incredibly expensive. What's good and cheap and comes in a large container?

I use GaleForce (I think the name is) two really big tubes and I want to say it was like $15 or so for them both. It didn't even seem like as much as it is but there is plenty in there. I've had the tubes for about a year and I have about half of it left.

Check out Gale force nine's "Grey stuff". It's the same thing, painted greyish and it comes in two large tubes of it. Much more bang for buck imo.

Yeah, found an image. They have Green and Gray though I am not sure of the difference.

While I am a fan of not spending money, after using one set of the admittedly cheaper GF9 GS, I went back to using GW's because it comes in the far more convenient to use strips despite it's higher cost.

It's the exact same material in every case. Whether in strip or tube form. If you prefer the strip, try looking for places that sell those 36" rolls of the stuff. Bound to be cheaper than GW's.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

As far as Green and Grey goes, I´ve found that the Grey cures slightly harder, and keeps it´s edges better.

The Grey stands between Green and Brown in hardness, Brown being the hardest.

Green is excellent for "soft stuff" like clothes and flesh, while grey is really good for armour.

I should probably mention that others may be of a different opinion, but anyways, that´s how I´ve found it to be.

I'm still using my 3' of GS from the manufacturer (Polymeric Systems Inc) that I got from their local distributor for $24 AUD (36" or roughly 120g of it - or 3x the GW quantity for a little more.)

For filling gaps and surfaces in resin models, though I use Squadron Green mixed with a little liquid poly (jar) cement.

Sets hard in an hour or so and can be sanded and filed/drilled with no issues.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I think the posters above are getting it right.

Try and purchase from suppliers of sculpting and casting materials Kneadatite is the brand name. In the UK i get mine, from amongst other suppliers from Tiranti. You should be able to find it if you look on the web.
