What is better than three Wagons and three Trukks with a 4+ cover save?! They can split up and just cause general havoc for anyone they meet. Offloading ~40+ Boyz on top of someone is guaranteed to make them hurt.

Thoughts? Comments?

Why 2 KFF Meks? That seems rather pointless. I mean I understand you talk of being able to split them up, but that's the worst thing you can do. Mech orks win by acting a hammer with their boyz anviling against the transports they just wedged between their enemies forces. Get Ghazzy or at least a regular warboss with PK. Get some planks on ur vehicles if you can find a way. It is by no means a bad list, but when you say the words "split up" I cringe.

You have to put boarding planks on your trukks and wagons because your only anti-armor is the Nob with a PK and if he gets out of the wagon to charge you'll be in trouble. Perhaps drop two of the deff rollas for the those points. I also agree that you need a warboss with a PK. With a boarding plank attack he can hurt Land Raiders and will rape dreadnoughts.

I could toss a Trukk Boy unit to free up a lot of points for varios additions. I had Boarding Planks in the list originally, but cut them to make room for another Trukk Boy unit.

I don't recommened Gaz for this army, a PK warboss, would be great for you, boardin planks would be awsome too, deff rollas a great, but I don't think they are 20 points great. At least consider droping them.

- Orks, 4175 points

boarding planks are a key vehicle upgrade against SM assult termies in thier tin can land raider the only problem with boarding planks is the GW doesn;t give you any when you buy battle wagons so where to get them? hahA

I ran a very similar list to this when the codex came out & the above advice is good:

-No need for 2 KFF... I didn't even use one. Any unit that loses its transport can just be the second wave of attacks.
-Deff Rollas are too costly pointswise. One is fun, but I dropped even that eventually.
-A unit of 3 or 4 Meganobz in a trukk will deal with any 13 or 14 armor easily.
-Ghaz can make your army very fun despite his points.

The reason why I enjoyed Ghaz is that he just about guarantees an army wide assault on turn 2 (in combination with fast trukks)

Well, weighing out the cost options, I will be going with my other list - the Nob Biker / Trukk Speed Freak list. This is just too expensive!

Expensive in terms of money, or expensive in terms of points? I might have advice either way; just need to know what the issue is.

Also, Aztralwolf, if you start taking all my good advice and giving it to other people before I get in there in many fewer words than I can, I'm going to start being jealous.

Money is the factor. Battlewagons are just too expensive. For my other Speed Freak list, I am looking at maybe $275 max, which leaves me with a ton of extra stuff.

Here is the other list:

Which would you run in a MEQ/TEQ and Mech heavy environment?

Everyone runs mechanized lists these days....so I do too. Except all my orky vehicles have 4+ cover saves, so my mechanized list is much more badass than anything someone not orks can bring to the table. =)

As for battlewagons, you have a couple options:

1. Battlewagons cost about $35, and get marked up to retail at $57-60 Remember that retail is 40% higher than what GW sells to store owners for, and a lot of stores (online and otherwise) will drop 20-30% off on a regular basis. This past weekend, there was even some 50% off sales. Don't feel bad about negotiating for something you can afford with someone. Someone getting $10 profit instead of $0 and no business is a winner. Its pretty common everywhere for merchants to at LEAST take 20% off (if you don't spread it around) simply to match what you can buy it online for.

2. E-bay. Even lower prices. Instead of NIB, you can find people retiring their ork armies, or selling off a bad purchase, or all sorts of stuff.

3. The trade forums here - do you have anything to offer up in trade for a battlewagon? Other armies? Magic cards? Rare wall poster of Chasey Lain? Why don't you go drop a post over in the trade forums and see what you can rummage up for people willing to trade you a battlewagon for something? I won a completely useless Catachan Battleforce box in a tournament I went to, and I traded it for a battlewagon and 10 stormboyz through Dakka dakka.

4. Craigs list? Stick this near e-bay; you can find local people who play 40k to trade with; you can do this at your local store(s) too, but careful....some merchants won't allow people trading in their store because it "costs" them business.

*****
5. BEST OF ALL: Play your orks. Play them over and over and over until you're consistently winning. Orks really *are* the most powerful army out right now. Then jump into local tournaments. $5 entry fee to win enough store credit to get a battlewagon. I played in a tournament today: $10 entry fee for three games - the PInk Waaaugh! (my wife's army) tabled Ravenwing round 1 in an annihilation game, tabled sisters of battle round 2 (even with ridiculous numbers of flamers, immolaters and heavy flamers and meltas...it was ludicrous), and then massacred (without tabling) Space Wolves on round 3.

Ding! $10 entry fee won me a $90 battleforce box, but for the purposes of the tournament, I asked the store owner for store credit instead. There's a battlewagon and a half (although I don't need any more - I have three, all of which were won through tournaments).

My store does 20% for certain order sizes, which this would qualify for. However, it is still out of my range. I just got an IG army recently, which is a huge investment, as well as a case. I need to get the VGC box set and if I get this army, I need a case for it as well. So, cost is a factor and I really prefer the other list.

I am just not sure which is strongest, because I would rather sink money into a winning army than a losing one.
