Alright here is something I have been working for a while--Keeper of Secrets and Kholek Suneater. The Keeper will be my general for my wip daemon army where as Kholek is more of a challenge set for me in order to work with GS.

The Keeper of Secrets is based on two models--FW Keeper of Secrets and FW Trygon. At first I was hesitant on buying the Trygon for fearing the tail will not match the Daemons body. My worry doubled when I went to games day and they said that they ran out of the Trygon and that I can have it shipped to me, thus not able to see it. I took the risk and behold fits perfectly. I am nearly done with the putty work of the mid torso...I think one more layer of putty should do the trick. Any suggestions on smoothing GS? My goal here is to sculpt the model to make it resemble the new Daemons of Slaanesh. So yes I will be putting clothes on her ;P. The arms are magnetized so I can transport her in the case when she is done.

Kholek Suneater is based on the shaggoth model and here I am sculpting the armor on him. I repositioned his arms to make it somewhat resemble the art cover of him in the WoC book. For shoulder pads...I am thinking of using the CSM Daemon prince shoulder pads. They seem to fit perfectly on him. The weapon is still being worked on, though I have started to work on it....it looks like a club with a skull sculpted on the front of the weapon. I have also extended the handle since he is carrying it with one hand...looked better imo. I can get pics of it soon. I am also going to sculpt more hair from where he has his arm risen.

So these are my two projects that I have been working so far for a few months now. Let me know what you guys think. Also provide with some suggestions on what I can do to make them look better, etc.

Thanks for looking and hopefully can update this soon.

While I like the keeper alot thus far Im not too sure about Kholek yet... he is supposed to be HUGE... IMO a normal Shaggoth doesnt cut it but I suppose if done right it will look fine... I guess Ill have to wait and see more before I make my own personal decision on wether or not I like it

I LOVE the Keeper but I'm not so keen on Kholek. The armour looks a bit wierd and so does the arm. Keep trying though. Could turn out really cool.

The keeper so far is certainly interesting, though I have a small anatomical point to make.. As you've done away with her legs she wouldn't have any need of buttocks, which i see creeping in there. Extra armour or some sort of sash would look better I think, I know everyone loves a nice ass, but I don't think it would look right on the model.

Also for smoothing green stuff (I don't know if you know this or not, so take no offence and ignore me if you do), keep your tools wet, some people say water but I find oil, either artists products like poppy seed oil or even simple vegetable oil does the trick. You might want to try using silicone clay shapers if you aren't already, as you're going to leave less marks to start with than a steel tool.

I love the concept of the KoS.

I think the lower half looks a bit too much tyrinidny...

I want too see more.

i cant remember where i saw it but someone made the shaggoth with a carnosaur as the dragon bit...looked ace...

love the keeper, but it seems a bit niddy....
maybe remove the fins on the back?/add breasts to the front like the steed of slaaesh?

Yeah I know hat ghosty is talking about... it looked pretty good although when I do my Kholek I think im going to use the normal shaggoth (possibly a carnosaur... undecided yet) and the LOTR Ogre body... the one with all the armour... and surprisingly the head on it looks very similar to kholeks so it might be worth it to try out that model!

The KOS is amazing, the fluting of the waist into the hips and ass make it look entirely feminine and that's great in a greater daemon of the god of pleasure and pain. The tyranid elements can be downplayed with dangling chains and a suitable paint job... As to the gribbly claws on the sides of the tail, here's my thoughts: Replace them with plastic daemonette arms!

Thanks guys for the comments......and I'm glad that my KoS is bringing such a reaction. Price wise...yes kinda expense but I bought the two models at two separate years so in a way didn't cost me much.

As for the smoothness of the GS...I am sorry maybe should have been more clear...I do use color shapers and Vaseline to smooth it out (works great) but once the GS dries whats the best way to smooth the shape...I am not sure if it shows, but some of the GS looks a bit bumpy in the areas that shouldn't, so I would like to fix that before I continue with it.

I know it looks a bit nidsy, but the whole thing surprisingly works. I am going to remove the back 'flaps' (if that they are called), but for now they make great grip holders so I can work around the model. I like the idea of using the daemonette's claws for the front, I will definitely consider it. But more work will be going on it...so I will try to make it as Slaaneshi as possible.

Keep the comments and suggestion coming

Thanks

I agree that the Keeper is awesome. The trygon tail really captures the 'sleek yet deadly' nature of Slaanesh, which unfortunately one doesn't see too much (some people are far to focuses on boobs).

OK....here is what I was able to do today....and this was what I really wanted to do to add to the side....I have only worked on the left side, but before I continue with the right...let me know what you guys think. This is my first attempt on scales...so be as harsh as you guys can be

Again thanks for the suggestions

That's a nice KoS you got going there.

You have way better GS skills than myself. I would never try anything this huge.
What style of scales were you going for? I know there are a few different scale types, but, what I'm trying to ask is were you going for the look of overlapping layers of scales like on snakes,etc... or something else?

At first I wanted to do the overlay scales, just like snakes and dragons, but then realized I am not at the level of experience to be able to do it. I ended up doing a side by side scale...something along what a reptile might have.

Hate to say this, but your scales look, uh... backwards. On snakes and other reptiles, the broadest part of the scale points to the tail of the animal...

Unless moving towards the head is the look you're deliberately going for.

Is there any way you could make the tail more slaaneshi? Not sure what I mean, but as has been said, it's still very clearly tyranid

Looks great, I think that when you get some paint on the KOS it will look more slaaneshi - you can paint the scales as armor rather than chitin and it will be fine.

Thanks guys...and yes I do realize that the tail looks like a nid than slaaneshi right now and as Somnicide has mentioned....my plan is to paint it to resemble armour rather than chitin. Saying this I will cut off the back flaps...smooth it out and might sculpt chain mail or something along that line, so I can make it resemble more fantasy like than 40K. As for now I want to get the mid Torso done and once that is said and done I will definitely start taking in suggestion for the tail.

Thanks to your suggestions, I am getting more motivated to get this project done quickly and effectively

I hope you will come to like the end result

Looking great so far! When I saw the first pic, my jaw dropped and I thought, "He did not just combine a FW KoS with a Trygon, did he!?"

Nice concept, and looks like it's coming along swimmingly.

The only suggestion I might make for improvement would be to redo the tip of her tail (after you're done with scales etc. no doubt). Removing the bulgy 'Nid mace-bit and replacing it with, say, a lithe Slaaneshi stinger would help you distance from the original Trygon sculpt.

Great start, looking forward to seeing how this goes.

What spore chimneys? I really fail to see what you're suggesting lol.

Your models look great, the KoS idea is amazing and I love the serpentine body you got there. Keep up the good work mate.
