I'm entering an online line competition for a diorama with the theme 'Silent Night'.
I'm slightly stuck on the theme. Obviously it could be Christmasy but, I decided to do something a little darker.
I had the idea of someone getting taken out in the dark, like on patrol or something. Seeing as my bits box is nonexistent I only really have a Catachan sprue and GS to play around with.
This is what i have so far:
Now I know what your thinking...but no, he is no committing a sexual assault, lol.
This is a very rough idea. Things will be changed like the blade the other way round (facing towards the neck), the joystick removed from the attackers hand etc.
You may be asking, "why would a Catachan take out a fellow fighter?". I don't know...perhaps he has been corrupted by chaos?
I need some ideas to clean it up so its believable. What could I do to the attacker to make it more believable?
Chaos symbol? Balaclava (although I love the stern unforgiving face)?
I think the chaos symbol scratched into his arm would be best.
The victim will also be holding a torch in his right hand. That way I can try so flashy OSL style painting; almost fully black on the back of the attacker to really bright on the front of the victim.
They will be positioned better if i decide to do it too.
So, opinions? Suggestions? If it looks bollocks please tell me as I will try again.

You may have already thought about this, but you'll need to turn the blade of the knife around - right now, all he'll do is cut the guy's chest, as opposed to slitting his throat.

I think it's a great idea. Maybe if you GS'ed the right hand covering the mouth, it would be more thematic. And if you extended the OSL to the surrounding trees, crates, or whatever, it would create that oppressive, claustrophobic feeling.
And if the Assassin is the one that turned to Chaos, you might want to make the grabbing hand a tentacle instead.
Can't want to see the final outcome!

I did put that in the first post  Im glad you noticed though.

Covering the mouth is a great idea. I'm not too good with GS so I think the tentacles are outta the question. I like the claustrophobic feeling though. Have him sitting on a crate with some bushes around him.

Sweet. It looks really cool. IMO though, I think the victim should be the chaotic one. It would make it feel like a lone imperial is getting revenge on his old comrades.
It'll be cool either way with a bit of tidying up

I agree that the victim should be the chaos dude as well. Maybe you could paint chaotic tattoos, or do some GS scaring perhaps. As for the attacker, maybe some night vision goggles or something, making him a little more sneeky looking ala splinter cell.

I was thinking maybe the guy getting knifed (Chaos) is at a clearing in the bushes with a glowing Chaos Rune in the floor? And i'd paint him look rather pasty, blue or purple tinges?

Looks great so far. But I'd suggest the opposite roles; make the attacker chaos, possibly even undead, and the victim Imperial. It could signal the beginning of a chaos revolt. It puts a bit more logic behind their matching uniforms if the attacker was just turned into the enemy moments ago...

Do the guy who's holding the knife as the chaos guy... give his skin a slight off colour tint and paint his eyes as solid sickly green/yellow.
Have them standing at a chaos icon and have other catachans looking around and about them, the two in this scene were the two at the rear and now one of them got possessed...

Love the idea mate, but you have fell flat where everyone does 
Why would someone slit someones throat with the blunt edge of a blade?
The catatchin daggers are singles edged with a serrated section and hooked top.
I would turn it around so the blade is against his throat
Other than that, i like this 
Nice xmas horror style.
If i had the chance to enter it would be a sniper based thing

I was thinking about a sniper thing too. but I dont have specific bitz for one. I could buy one but up a little hard up at the moment...or will be...

Ok, this is wierd but you know the hand holding the joy stick? You could make that into 3 long tenticles, which stretch out in front of the pair, and have them going into another catachans eyes and mouth, as if he is basically stopping him from raising the alarm from what he's walked into!

That is epic! It has a lot of potential for an incredible diorama.
For the fluff, the old Catachan Codex tells how Catachans fought over honour using one blade between the two. You could use this as the story.

I'll have to check that out.
That would be sweet. Only problem is i doubt the victim would have a torch etc. Plus I kinda need to keep that, as it fits with the theme.
@ TheFirstBorn, Yes...that is very weird, ha ha! But, I think I'm going to steer away from mutation's and tentacles.
