I visited my local GW today and found an old colleague running the store as most of the regular staff were off with Manbearpig Flu. We got on to the conversation of WFB and some of the forthcoming releases... One of them being Beastmen. He told me what to expect from the book and confirmed some things I had wondered about: The Marks: All exactly the same as WoC. Special Characters: Morghur. Gorthor - allows Beastman Chariots as Core Choices A special character Doombull - allows Minotaurs as Core Choices Khazrak. A special character Bestigor Upgrade. A special character Centigor Upgrade. Lords and Heroes: Beastlord - can ride a Tuskgor or a larger Razorgor. Can have Marks. Great Bray-Shaman - Can have a herdstone altar. Can have Marks. Bray-Shaman. Can have Marks. Doombull - Who doesn't allow Minotaurs as core choices. Can have Marks. A hero level Beastlord. Can have Marks. A hero level Doombull. Can have Marks. Some sort of Beastmaster. A lord that lets you have as many Bestigor units as you can field. Core Choices: Gors - Finally separate from Ungors, apparently Skirmish when not in combat, but then act as a full rank and file unit when in combat. These guys can have a musician. If i'm right about this, this means that these guys have a 360 degree LOS and are at -1 to hit from shooting and can still fight good fights??? Have light armour, can have HW and Shields or Additional HW. Cannot have Marks. Ungor Skirmishers - Are basically cannon fodder. They have no unit upgrades except a champion. They Skirmish too. Apparently about as nasty as a Goblin, but with better WS and higher movement. Cannot have Marks. Bestigor - You can only have one unit of these guys per unit of Gors. Str and Toughness 4. Can have Great Weapons, Additional HW or HW and Shields. Come with Heavy Armour. Can have Marks. These guys can hit pretty hard from what I've been told. Ungor Trackers - Skirmishing scout unit. Braver than a regular Ungor unit. Can throw Javelins. Chaos Warhounds - As WoC. Special Choices: Tuskgor Herd - A unit of Tuskgors led by a Gor. From what I can gather, similar to the Packmaster units in Skaven. They have a special rule called stampede that can backfire if they fail a panic check. Tuskgor Chariot - Now have two Bestigor riding them. Can have Marks. Centigor - Can now have Marks. Minotaurs - As before but now have something similar to the Ogre Kingdoms Bull Charge. No longer have Bloodgreed. Come with 2 HW and can upgrade to GW. Can have Marks. Rare Choices: Mammoth - WTF??? A large Mammoth with several Gor/Ungor riding in it. I doubt this one very much. Tuskgor Cavalry - This sounds awesome. Apparently Bestigor on a Tuskgor with a 2+ save if the riders have shields and they can hit really really hard. Can have Marks. Chaos Giant - as WoC. Spawn - as WoC. Magic Items: Apparently the Beasts get the worst magic list in the game. No confirmation on what they are though. Magic Spells: They get a complete overhaul of the current spell list. They also have their own version of the Lore of Beasts. New Models: The entire range except for the Characters, Ungor Trackers, Centigor and Tuskgor Chariot is plastic. PLASTIC MINOTAURS??? I wish Now to clarify this, I didn't see the book, but this is from a former colleague who I worked with at GW for almost my entire tenure (at least 4 out of the 6 years) and he is has been right about rumours before.

Plastic minotaurs are 100% happening.
Gors and ungors are indeed separate and plastic, as are the Bestigor. Ungor can have bows as well.
That's the only new plastic kits, all the rest are metal, there's also the Razorgor, which your list misses out which makes me a bit "hmm" about some of it.
I like the idea of the skirmishing then ranking units though.

I heard that the Razorgor (or Bull Tuskgor) was some kind of mount for the Characters. Automatically Appended Next Post: I forgot the name - hence I called it a Bull Tuskgor.

Not impossible but unlikely IMO. Unless it's an option they haven't done model/s for.

Thats one thing I was unsure of too, regarding the fact of how is a cloven hoofed creature going to ride a 500 Lb Warpig???
Also no confirmation on the alleged Gorgon or the Minotaur Character dragging a Herdstone.

Say it with me: WARPIG Thanks for this Rad, and I hope this turns out to be legit because it's about exactly what I would expect from the book. Special characters to shift around core options, elite units get special character champs, list gets a reworked beasts lore, gors get full CR but skirmish (a great schtick for the army), minos get impacts, giant / spawn / hounds stick around, etc. I like the piggy swarm unit, and the rare uber-boar cavalry are cool. The army actually sounds pretty scrappy, lots of flexible units with hammers and utility troops (ungors, hounds, spawn) as needed, and hypothetically without the magic-crutch that WoC apparently requires. Maybe the only missing unit is some kind of flyer, but I guess beasts can join the ogres in that club Oh, and herdstone = cauldron / warshrine / engine mechanic? Cool by me, I'm not tired of that unit type quite yet Here's a question: Any idea if the WoC reroll panic will crossover? BoC IMO need it more than WoC, but it would be kinda lame to just paste it over, as it's a nice unique ability for the mortals ... - Salvage

I'm skeptical. These rumors mesh only somewhat with that's been going around on Warseer and elsewhere. Heretofore unmentioned Tuskgor Cav and War Mammoth in place of the Razorgor? Tuskgor herds but no favored spawns? A plastic chariot out of nowhere in spite of repeated rumors to the contrary? These rumors provide an interesting counter-narrative to what we've heard thus far, but I'm not inclined to believe them over what we've already heard. By the same token, these new rumors mean that what's been rumored so far should also be viewed skeptically.
I'm not suggesting that the OP's contact actively mislead him--it's just that rumors are inherently squishy information: in the case of conflicting rumors, who knows what's really true? Given the amount of new—and in some cases quasi-conflicting—information here, along with a lack of confirmation of what we’ve already heard, I’m going to remain skeptical. Certainly some of the new findings sound very likely—“buy these particular expensive special characters to unlock these particular army builds”—but I’m not convinced that this rounds of rumors even approaches the last word on the subject.*
*Yes, I know the OP never implied such. I’m just trying to express my sizable skepticism.

I particularly like the basic Gor unit.
It's pretty damn tough and has a ton of utility.
360 degree charge arc? Yup.
-1 to be shot at because of skirmishing? Yup.
Full combat res. bonuses even tho skirmishing? Yup.
That is just nutz.

My 60 Gor models would like to agree with you, but rumors this one-sided give me pause. We're led to believe Gors received everything they could conceivably ask for (having lost their Ungor meat shields): they keep skirmishing, gain full combat res instead of the previous +2, and pick up light armor to finally give them a respectable 4+ in HtH? I certainly want to believe that it’s true, but I know that I shouldn’t. The studio doesn't like giving overwhelming upgrades to a single unit unless it's getting awesome (x2) new models, and even then it doesn't always work out (see: Damned, Legion of the). And the word on the street is that Gors are getting recut sprues.
I hope to God I'm wrong and that Gors get some awesome (x2) new models with some awesome (x2) new rules and are the new awesome (x2) on the tournament circuit, but if all they're getting is a sprue re-cut and broken into separate boxes from their Ungor brethren, my doubt borders on disbelief.

I thought that too and I voiced my opinion on it.
One piece of news though, my source couldn't acknowledge any of the rumours about the Gorgon, Harpys or the special character Doombull dragging the herdstone - unless this is the guy that allows the Minotaur Army.
Im a bit surprised at no Dragon Ogres or Trolls.

I can say with confidence that most of the above "rumours" are garbage. Things that jump out are the tuskgor "cavalry" and the absence of certain information (i.e. mutations, *loss* of marks of chaos).
As mentioned above, this is a combination of wishlisting and speculation. Herdstone and warseer have a much better collection of rumour info.
