I got give a Star Wars AT-AT Walker by a well meaning older relative, thinking I could use it with my Guards army.

So I have some idea's on converting it into some form of Supper Heavy, but would really some more input.

I dont, like the legs, I was thinking of replacing them with a tracked configuration

you would dare defile one of the greatest icons of science fiction?

It would look like an armadillo if you made it lower to the ground.

I'm sure (depending on scale) that if you painted it IG colours it would be fine. Not that it would be hidden in camoflauge.

Well it would if you if you painted the lower half of the legs camo green colors for the ground and stuff, and the rest camo in blues and whites, so it blends into the sky. That would be near invisible.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

If you wanted to do that why don't you use one of the republic walkers from the Episode II. The look is not as well known and it should fit better in 40K. An AT-AT will always be an AT-AT not matter what it is done to it. Sort of like taking a Jabba the Hutt toy and making him into a Greater Demon of Nurgle.

You'd need to do something really radical to it to stop it looking like an AT-AT. Maybe made it tracked and change the head. Even then though, it would still be obviously the star wars walker.

Giving it a set of tracks or wheels would turn it into a nice mobile command unit. Removing the neck joint, maybe shortening the head and attaching it directly to the hull would help remove some of the gangly AT-AT-ness.

Otherwise, turning the hull sideways and attaching the heah in the middle makes a perfect head and shoulder assembly for a titan... just add arms, waist and legs.

I have seen this kit before and it is not to scale for 40k. the AT-ST is a better scale for making it into a sentinal.

It strikes me that the head would look great on a Warlord, or even a Warhound.

It could be some kind of armored version of the Gorgon available from Forgeworld especially if you give it treads.

Thanks for the input.
These are my first thoughts:-
Remove the legs and replace them with Baneblade track and armoured sides
Remove the extended neck section and either mount it directly onto the hull or a rounded pivot mount. On the head mount an under slung twin assault cannon (I just love the look of these) or the aircraft punisher cannons depending on their size and 2 twin linked Lascannons on the side of the head
For the main gun, which is mounted on the top of the body, its either a Baneblade turret or the Battle cannon similar to that mounted on the Thunderhawk.
Two Twin linked side sponsons, one lascannon and another heavy bolter per side.
And finally a rear facing Heavy bolter.
All round weaponry just like a B17, just more kick

I don't know.... I don't see any good way for this to work. I have seen folks make some pretty cool AT-ST conversions, but don't see any good way to do the AT-AT.

Which AT-AT is it? The toy, the Star Wars Miniatures on or a model?

I think you could do an OK job with the body on tracks to make a Leviathan or Captial Imperalis.

The body of a titan is also a good idea.

Not a bad idea you've got there.

I think you should paint it IG colors, and call it a warhound Titan.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

No not a Titan, I going to call it an Armadillo as thats what the wife said it would look like.
I have discided to add the Shadowsword gun barrel to the turret.
