I want to have a poll on what army you guys think is the best. Personally, I like CSM because they are just fun to play overall. Assaulting is better than wussy shooting right??? RIGHT???
Please tell me which army you think is best and I might start that army. I already have a big CSM and Imperial army so the next highest... You get it...

Dark Eldar...the best because you can be where you want when you want. 5th edition is an objective game for the most part so being able to contest and get guys on objectives gives the fastest army a nice advantage.

If I see another comment saying "its da best because!!" and thats it Ill punch someone. LOL. Nah, all good.

Very, very opinionated this post but this is my 2 cents.

1. Eldar = Can be a big challenge to play. Lots of strategy available to this race. One of the better looking races IMO. Go space elves!!
2. Tyranids = They use to look really stupid but these days have improved many times over. Very cool. Couldn't be bothered painting so many units though.
3. Space Marines are fun and a good for beginners. I find them a little too repetitive to paint and every man and his dog seems to play them.
4. Chaos Space Marines = This would be my army if they didn't remind me of a bunch of teen goths trying to look cool. I'll wait until GW give them a makeover (in 50 years or so).
5. Grey Knights = Wow, love the models. Wouldnt use the rules though. Just use models in a normal SM army.
6. Chaos Daemons = Some models are amazing to look at. Others are laughable and ridiculous. Another army I have to wait for a makeover.

Won't bother with the other armies. I just don't like them. Personally I find they either look stupid or not enough variety in models to collect. Yay Eldar!

sniperjolly, sniping is a subset of shooting. Which orks can do better. Obviously if you pick something like, "cruising around in a land raider looking cool" Orks can't do that better. =p

@ginger_nid_dude: If you are an advanced player with advanced tactics and knowledge, the armies equalized and you can perform equally well with all of them, although there are a couple that will be harder (Inquisition, Necrons....)

I agree with Sgt. Pepper here orks dont look as cool as others in LRs. Seriously though i like GKs but ahhh what a learning curve to playing them. I like my 1k sons not to difficult to play just a tactical army. I would say though my personal taste has nothing to do with the best cause both are definitely NOT the best. I would have to agree with Sgt. Pepper again and say orks are da bestest except opening AV14 vehicles just a minor problem for them though.

Personally, I like Tau, mainly for the Railguns. Hilarious going first against Dark Eldar and watching those AV10 raiders go pop on the first turn. In all seriousness though, I do like Tau for their fluff. I love how much sheer luck they have had over the years. They almost got wiped out by the Imperium, the humans got blocked off by ~1000 years of warp storms. They almost killed themselves in a civil war, the Ethereals came down and got them to get along. Most other races have taken millennia to get to their current tech level, the Tau have managed to advance to equivalent levels in a fraction of the time. I mean, damn.

I also like Dark Eldar for their sheer speed, and just how much of a slap in the face it was back in 3rd Edition, where they would wipe out an entire gunline by consolidating into more assault...

I agree with you about the Tau. I love any S 10 weapons, and I like the firepower Tau armies can have (even though the Tau themselves are relatively poor fighters). In addition, I like the fluff. Tau are the "good" race that are actually good, if you know what I mean. Like, Empire and Eldar are supposed to be good, because both are against Chaos and pure evil like Necrons and Dark Eldar and Orks, but both are relatively heartless when it comes to other races that aren't necessarily evil. Both could care less about anyone other than themselves. But Tau are more compassionate and social, they give enemies that aren't evil a chance to surrender peacefully and join them, they always follow up on their commitments to thier allies.

Kill the mutant, burn the heretic, purge the unclean!!!!

There are just three simple rules to follow: If I charge, follow me. If I retreat, kill me. If I die, avenge me.

"A Templar Knight is truly a fearless knight and secure on every side, for his soul is protected by the armor of faith, just as his body is protected by armor of steel. He is thus doubly armed and need fear neither daemons nor men."

Sniping.=When you roll hits for a unit, it's always the same orks that hit, so..............those models have a 100% hit rate.
Hiding.= Ahem, grots, that's pretty much what they do 24/7
Table Manners.=It's all perspective, to an ork a punch do the face is a sigh of respect for the cook.
Exterminatus.= Dude, they do this as a hobby.
The Spanish Inquisition.=Notice how The Spanish Inquisition always wear robes, that's cuse they're green under all that, also painboys are sorta along those lines.
Kniting.=How do you think they hold those vehicles together?
Baking.=You have obviously never had a squig suprise pie.
