The attached Officer of the Fleet:

The Banner of the 42nd, Faith Company:

And a fourth flamer that's being added to Lt. Rezkin's Platoon Command Squad:

And a grenade launcher as well, but I'm not so proud of him, paint job wise:

The flamer guy's face is really great! Never thought that model's face could look that great in fact.

Really liking the colour scheme too, really well done but slightly muted and understated, just what I think a guardsman should be, ie. one of the innumerable foot slogging masses.

@ gerald I stole a painting tip from someone here (probably greydeath or lbursley) that recommended a thinned down wash of purple after your flesh wash. I really think it's helped my faces.

@henners91 With the exception of the advisor, most of these aren't bought new. I get them mostly from sniping ebay auctions and trades. Simple green strips them, and they they get repainted.

The good news is this: most of the old 2nd Edition models look great on the table together, as long as they share similar color schemes and basing styles. And the metals strip better than plastics.

Of course, you don't want metal catachans and valhallans togther, but Valhallans look great with Mordians and even Tallarn (it does get cold in the desert at night, after all). What I do is keep my different styles in discrete units to avoid confusion. Keep an eye out on ebay, be patient, and you'll find good deals.
