Plastics or metals? Also, what are the mini's painted with - I'm assuming acrylics all the way with the following.

If plastic - quite tricky to strip. I have heard people talk of repeated dunking and washing in soapy water and scrub with toothbrush
If metal - use some sort of paint thinners or strippers, there are a wide range of products out there.

As for removing static grass, I had a bunch of ebay material that had static grass on it and I used my trusty scalpel to slowly 'shave' it off.

I'd recommend bathing them in dettol overnight then peeling the skin of paint off. Works for me!

Mr Muscle oven cleaner does the trick apparently. I thought it would eat the plastic but I know several people who have used it extensively and not had any issues, works on acrylic and enamel paints.

I'm using dettol currently. Submerge the mini in it for <30 mins, put it in warm soapy water and scrub scrub scrub

Somewhere.

Fairy Power Spray. May take a couple of sessions on plastic with especially thick paint, but leave some models soaking in it for 6 hours or so and then use a tooth brush to scrub the paint off.

Only 6 hours?
My models have been in that stuff for 4 weeks now and I'm still not sure if I should scrub them yet...

they are plastic space marines, along with a predator tank and metal command squad.

i used the games workshop paints.

so all in all dettol or mr muscle? any other ones? time doesn't bother me i just don't want to ruin the minis, although you could argue that the being badly painted they are ruined allready lol
